What about Jay Graham?

I never said that Neal impressed me over any other back in particular, only that who plays is not solely decided by the position coach. I suggested possible reasoning behind those decisions, again not necessarily agreeing with their assessment.

Personally, I wanted to see more of Lane early on because he really seemed to be finishing runs off strong. Some of Neal's best runs have come just after Lane had come in with a strong run of his own.

I totally agree with this whole statement.

The only thing that I would add to this is that the rb's go in and out on Graham's command. I watched them on the sidelines early in the season to see who was responsible for not getting Lane on the field and Graham sent in the subs. He is probably not in command of setting the substitution pattern either, and I understand that. His evaluation of his position did however inevitably give Dooley and the OC their picks for starters and the depth chart. Now that a majority of the season has been played, you can tell by who is getting carries in certain situations who is now seen as their best option. That's Lane. This is just another glaring sign of this staff's inability to get the job done.

I think he stays if he can. Just bc who takes a job that's mostly a lateral move if they are only gonna be there for a year? Everybody saw that there was a 50/50 chance this was Dools last season.

New head coach means new assistants period.

It also means new O and D systems that our kids have to learn so don't expect too much better for the first year or 2.

Unless we run a true Pro style O like CDD is doing then many top recruits will look elsewhere because they have a better chance of getting drafted coming from a Pro style O since it's less for them to learn in the NFL and they can have more potential to make a impact as a rookie.

VFL...GBO!!!

No it doesn't. I.e. Lance Thompson.

And, no, not necessarily. Some kids want to be on an offense that highlights their specific talents. For example, Urbans Fla teams with all that speed were not pro style

If Dooley is gone odds are they will be gone too. JMO

Disagree. Graham will be back I feel confident in but after him maybe Pittman but cant see any other coach's good enough to be contained on a Gruden staff. Our staff as a whole isnt exactly SEC quality outside of those 2. People wanting Cut back would see an even worse overall staff. Gruden will have us an allstar and one of the best if not best staff in college football. Kiffin's staff was one of the best as far as recruiting goes but Grudens would take it to the next level.

There is absolutely NO way any coach should be leveraged or promised anything. This is what happened with Dooley. Hamilton picked a coach who would retain Chaney, and Thompson. I heard that was the main reason the Cut deal didn't go down. I'm not a Cut person, but he certainly would have been better than Dooley. No question.
Graham will be fine, and I'd say the next coach will give his reputation as a recruiter, good position coach, and alumni status every consideration.

Some on here may not be thinking about the collateral damage in a coaching change; ie, Jay Graham, former All SEC RB at UT, who left a comfortable job at SCAR just this year to coach at his Alma Mater. Sure, assistants will be compensated, but in Jay's case, I think UT is where he wanted to be. If the change does happen, here's hoping that Jay gets to stay on; if that is his wish. JG epitomizes----VFL.

The worst decision a new coach can make is to fire Jay Graham. Talk about getting off on the wrong foot with the fanbase...just sayin'.
GO VOLS!

So you want a new coach as long as He obeys the fan base as you call it. So silly.

What about Hinshaw? I think him, Graham, and pittman have all done a great job! Also the strength and conditioning coach, not sure of his name, but he has done a nice job too! Hopefully whatever path we take whether with Dooley or another coach gets us where we want to be! GBO

I believe there will be room for all coaches. Due to the excessive cost of obamacare, Tennessee Coaches will be limited to 28 hours per week, thus allowing the University to opt out of obamacare. So they will need more Part-Time coaches or Volunteers!

Is it true that Gruden has retained the services of Ron Zook? Zook has been at UT too , but that did not work out to well with the whole "faxing florida the playbook scandal with jack sayles" just curious. Anybody else hearing this? Looks like a college football hire
