What about just a little pitching?

I remember the balk. I don't remember him trying to pick off an empty base.
Thank you for giving me an excuse to go back and look at good times in Omaha.

It was the top of the ninth. Appel hit a single, scoring a run from third. Tying run at the plate. Appel then had an uncontested steal of second base. While at second, Combs tried to pick him off at first, thus the balk.

Here’s the screenshot right before it happened. For some reason, I can’t get a link to the video to post.

Three pitches later (one of which was a wild pitch that scored the run from third), they were national champions.

I stand corrected. It wasn't a new play drawn up for last night. They were reusing a play from a national championship win. Makes more sense now. LOL.

What’s crazy is they also repeated last night the wild pitches from the top of the ninth in game three. Combs had two of them in that inning alone.

I’m only saying the above in jest and also a polite needling of people who were about to jump out of the window at last night’s starter’s performance and wanting him yanked. Of course it could’ve turned out wrong, but CTV stuck with Aaron Combs despite two wild pitches and a balk, all in one inning. If folks were all worked up about the Alabama game last night, I can’t imagine how tormented they were in the ninth inning of game three of the College World Series with all that going on🙂

As I always said, I wanted a national search for a HC. A top 5 program deserves an experienced guy. However Elander did have to hire position coaches pretty quickly. Maybe he didn’t have a lot of options, so if he doesn’t dismiss several of these guys and upgrade, I think Josh only gets 3 years before he’s gone.
I think 3 years is a loooong time!!! Hel- one year has been a loooong time!!!!

Yep. Never did check into the game thread last night. Had a bad feeling. I was all over first pitch today though! Palate is fresh!

VN board.... we wanted a pitching performance...TK delivered one today. He hit 94 on a rising heater in the top of the 8th. I think he could have gone 9 today if needed. Bama did some of what they've done all year...booting the ball around! Hopefully...we'll see a repeat in the night cap...Not a Cubs fan but always LOVED the quote by Ernie Banks...."Its a beautiful day for a ballgame....Let's play two"!
