What are you watching summer 2014?

Actually the story wasnt bad. It was just low budget silly.

Is it worth going back to watch classic Who? I used to watch it as a kid in the 80's but really had no clue what was going on. I think I just liked the theme music and the idea of the "space ship" being a phone booth.

To be honest if I saw Dr Who back in the day I don't remember it. Like you said all I remember is the theme song. :)

I'm with Cagle, after watching the David Tennant/Matt Smith era I'd find it hard to go back to an older Dr Who.

Also forgot Da Vinci's Demon's and Fargo is still on for now.

Started watching Gang Related, I'll give it a couple more weeks. Will be watching Under The Dome, Falling Skies, and Defiance soon. Tried to watch Penny Dreadful, I found it...well dreadful. Oh What Would You Do, yeah yeah I know but I really like that show.

I would highly recommend everyone who is Doctor Who fan to watch the TV movie from the BBC last year titled Doctor Who: An Adventure in Space and Time (just released on Blu-ray & DVD)

I found it very interesting to learn about the show and how it was almost cancelled after the first episode. The original episode aired on November 23, 1963 and if you know your history that was the day after Kennedy was killed. It got bad ratings as everyone (even in England) was watching the coverage of that on other networks. Apparently the producer who happened to be a woman and the youngest BBC producer at the time got them to re-air the episode the following week before a new episode and the rest is history!

Doctor Who: An Adventure in Space and Time (TV) (2013)

A dramatic re-telling of the creation of the television series Doctor Who in 1963, travel back in time to witness the dramatic birth of Doctor Who. Actor William Hartnell felt trapped by a succession of tough-guy roles. Wannabe producer Verity Lambert was frustrated by the TV industry’s glass ceiling. Both of them were to find unlikely hope and unexpected challenges in the form of a Saturday afternoon drama, time travel and monsters! Allied with a brilliant creative team, they went on to introduce the world to the longest running science fiction series ever, currently in its 50th year and counting.

Starring: David Bradley, Jessica Raine, Brian Cox, Sacha Dhawan, Lesley Manville
Director: Terry McDonough

I was reading the Wiki page the other day. Pretty interesting stuff about the origins of the show and how the storyline evolved from being a time travel show meant to get kids interested in history and science, to a straight up sci-fi adventure series.

Also how nearly 100 of the earlier episodes were lost and how the BBC is relying on cobbling together bootleg fan copies.

I learned recently that my wife has never seen more than a few episodes of Cheers.
We started at the beginning and we're already to the Woody episodes.
This will be what we watch most of the summer after the kids go to bed.

The Sopranos...it's taking my 2nd place so far with my all time favorite shows. Breaking Bad is and always will be my number one. SOA is my 3rd favorite. After The Sopranos I'll prolly watch The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, and GoT.
