The only time it's seemed worthwhile was in the event of the Bristol-bowl where you're playing a unique venue. If we were to play in a non-traditional venue that generated hype - or in a foreign venue ala the ND ireland game - I think those are the only instances that it's worth it. Playing in an NFL stadium seems like a nonplus to me.
I get why they do it....$$$. I don't mind every few years, but neutral sites are for bowl games, not to start the season. Our recent neutral site games against WV, UVA coming up and NCST next year is all fine and well, but if we ever start the season with the likes of a UCLA, USC, Michigan, Penn State, FSU, etc., needs to be a home and home series.
Hate neutral site games, college stadiums and game day experiences are unique. Also, UGA vs Florida needs to be changed from neutral site to playing at each others stadiums. UGA has had it very easy with their schedule for way to long and it's time for the SEC to fix that (2024 schedules does look harder but still UGA needs to play in the Swamp every other year).
