What did Calipari just call that ESPN announcer?

So what is your estimate on time that you think Cal will live in Lexington?

Coach Rich Brooks has decided to stick around and make Lexington his home; at least on a part time basis. I look for Coach Cal to do the same. I think he'll be here for 15 years or so. A couple or three national titles and several SEC titles. He'll have the same success Pitino had here, I think.

question is...how many of those titles will he have to vacate for breaking the rules?

well two different programs...2 final Fours vacated...i'd say the odds are he's going 3 for 3...

Most fans in Kentucky are fans of the "3rd times a charm" rule. Meaning the third time if he cheats and wins a title, he does not get caught.

Of course, it could also mean that the 3rd time it happens he could be banned from coaching forever, and with his fall our University falls to shambles amid NCAA sanctions

I prefer the former.

First, Marcus Camby hired an agent. Calipari takes the heat but is not directly in violation. Cal didn't hire the agent, Camby did.

Second, how in the heck in a coach supposed to know if a high school kid takes a test or not? That's a University of Memphis issue. When the kid is accepted to college and is given a schedule of classes, the coach is going to assume he's legit. Again, Calipari accused of no wrong doing yet he takes the hit.

I know it doesn't look the best, but I don't think Coach Calipari will wreck the cadillac he's been given to drive in this case.

There's a Gillispie joke in that statement somewhere, if only I could find it...

You can find Gillispie jokes in a lot of places, Cotton. The only one who fails to find them funny is Bruce Pearl.

Nope. Only about half of what he says. I was just pointing out that of all the things you could have said, you picked the same one liner that people have run in the ground. Be original with your Kentucky insults. They are more fun that way. :eek:k:

wtf? What are you talking about? What one liner did I use? All I said, or insinuated, was that they are not friends, and that wasn't a friendly exchange, no matter what Cal says about it. What that has to do with Kentucky, IDK

Nevermind. Our senses of humor obviously missed each other.

My guess is that Pearl finds as much humor in the Gillispie situation as the rest of us.
A whole bunch of people had laughs at Huggs' expense the year he was in exile. They did the same to Cal while he was laying low next to Larry Brown. People would be wise to get their shots in on Clyde while they can.

I seem to remember another coach leaving Kentucky in a bourbon induced haze. Wildcat geniuses told everyone that'd be the last we'd see of that guy. That is, until Eddie Sutton started making Final Fours at Oklahoma State.

Yeah. I was so young that I really couldn't grasp everything that happened. All I knew is what my family said, which was something along the lines of he could burn in hell, etc etc.

Looking back the guy could/can coach. Not so much on his character, though.
