This keeps coming up and I apologize if it was in another thread, but does anyone know what this big "disagreement" was between Orgeron and Marlon Brown and/or Brown's family??

Orgeron thought he should play for Tennessee, Brown thought he should play for Georgia.

Word is he absent mindedly dropped the F-bomb in front of Grandma...

Marlon denied any cussing in the GVX article.

I think we all know O was too intense for Marlon and it wasn't a good fit personality wise.

He wore red and white to the bball game...I mean he looked like he was at a Jawjuh game.

James Green has better hands and better jumping ability. I just don't think anyone's going to care about Marlon & Grandmagate in 12-24 months.

That's one thing I remember reading early on - a lot of people thought Marlon:

(a) wasn't playing against terribly stiff competition/hadn't had to prove himself the way prospects from other schools had

(b) didn't work/play as hard as he could

Either of those would be good reason for him to look elsewhere given what Kiffin and Co. are doing. A friend of mine has a class with Jacques McClendon - he said that Jacques told him it's a whole new ballgame from a discipline standpoint as well as the work ethic on the field, in the weight room, etc... Maybe Marlon was too used to being the big dog on campus and all the talk about everyone earning his spot scared him off. If so, good riddance!

I should add that this is pure speculation on my part. . . :whistling:

Marlon Brown sound like the sort of "me-first" player that Fulmer recruited over the years. How many times did we lose due to players who thought more about agents & NFL careers than they did about personal responsibility & TEAM!??? G'wan down to Athens, Marlon, & be prepared to meet Mr. Berry when you come across the middle...if you dare.
GO VOLS!

Rex posted this the other day......CMR gave Grandma a copy of the recruiting book about coach O. That is all it took for the "family" to send MB to UGA. Plain and simply.

We traded Marlon Brown for Janzen Jackson FWIW. I think that move is 3x the move as signing Brown. Granny got what she wanted alright, Eric Berry's shoulder in Marlon's ear hole.

The only thing important that's going to come from this Marlon Brown situation is getting to change my avatar this October to one strikingly similar.....
