Word is he absent mindedly dropped the F-bomb in front of Grandma...
A couple of things here. STOP being total homers and see things for what they are. Marlon went to UGA because of the Church of Christ/Richt connection. Get over it. Stop trashing the guy, no one knows at this point what kind of player he will be. All we know is that we didn't get him.
What was explained to me, and read into this whatever you may, is that Orgeron said in front of G-ma, "I'm just an ole ******* from Louisiana." and that's what turned them. Marlon was willing to overlook this, but his g-ma was not, which is why she did not make the trip to Knoxville.
Again, read whatever the f you want to into it, but that's what happened.
What book is this?
Ole Miss players?? evidentally he was doing something wrong there Nutt took his talent and did well.
Well the bottom line, too, is that some people are made to be a head coach, and some just aren't. It doesn't mean they are a bad coach, but they are much much better at handling things like recruiting and coaching specific positions. I mean look at Pete Carroll. It's definitely arguable if he is in the top 5 of coaches in college, but he was awful as head coach of the Pats. Look at Norv Turner out in San Diego. Any way that you can systematically kill an organization, that guy has done it. As an offensive coordinator he is probably the best in the business, but he is a ****** head coach. I'll argue that with anyone every day, but I'd be surprised to hear a non-Charger fan do it. The list goes on and on for this. Mike Shula, Ron Zook, etc.O brought Ole Miss up from the basement. He also didnt have the luxury of of having Snead at QB during his tenure. He is probably too intense for a HC position, but I think he is perfect as a recruiter/d-line coach. He tells it like it is and doesnt try to sugar coat crap. That is refreshing, IMO.
