Pressed for time, confronted with higgledy piggledy selections in the larder, lacking inspiration, she settled on doctoring up a frozen pizza with a variety of veggies while lamenting an absence of greens. I responded by characterizing her preparation as “Exie salad.” Since, I have described my layered bowls as Exie salads.
