After getting mauled by Ducks like a toddler holding a loaf of bread at Daddy's baited blind, I'm actually still in shell-shock. I know I didn't see anything I wanted to see last Saturday.

So what do we need to see this Saturday against what used to be a more potent river dweller - the hated Gators?

I feel like my shower discipline is off, and what I'm about to say still has the stink of the Bamboo Farmer on it, but here goes:

1. I want to see no Gator play go for more than 25 yards this weekend.

2. I want to see no more than three Gator plays between 20 - 25 yards.

3. I want us to be 50% on stopping Gators on 3rd down.

4. I want us to force two turnovers and score from at least one.

5. I want to look like the "power spread" team we are supposed to be and I want to rush for 100 yards by hook or by crook against this awesome Gator defense.

I don't know how to feel stating such modest goals for the once might Vols. I expect to lose by more than 20 points. Brick-by-brick.

(PS - I truly expect the majority of responses to be Dobbs, Ferg, Dobbs, Dobbs, Dobbs, Ferg, Peterman, Dobbs)

No but seriously. I want to see a lot of what you do because they are all good but mainly I would like to see good qb play regardless of who it is along with a good running game. If I'm not mistaken, the team with the most rushing yards has won this matchup the last 8 years or whatever it is Florida has won. I also don't want to see a lot of big plays from Florida's offense and there is no reason we can't hold them under 21 points.

All is good except for point #3.... we better do better than let them convert 50% of their 3rd downs imho. I'd go with 20% on that one. Otherwise I'm with you. Sure hope we don't lose, especially by 20pts....

long drives on offense resulting in tds

big runs by either Rb/qb

qb making the throws in traffic and Wr catches

overpowering O-line (lives up to the preseason hype)

defense actually look like they know their assignments

I would like to see us get the ball to Marquez North and Brendan Downs more.

Oh, and let Peterman start.

First and foremost, a Volunteer victory. Put Lane in the backfield and Neal in the slot. Throw in some screens and draws. Win the penalty yardage and turnover battle.

...as proclaimed by VN, the QB couldn't hit the side of a barn with the ball at 10 yds, the OL couldn't make a hole with a D9 dozer, the backfield couldn't find the hole if they did, the receivers couldn't run a route to the men's room, the Defense couldn't bust the line at Golden Corral, and the secondary might as well take a sack lunch with them onto the field, Polardy can't kick past the 50 and Butch is already calling his buddies in Ann Harbor. And you want a win?:eek:lol:

This!

If Lane hits the hole and pushes the pile for 5 yards, Great! I'll take (20) 5 yard runs down the field all day.

I Want to see a determined, angry team out to prove that they weren't as bad as they looked last week. We're still a long ways away from playing head to head with the SEC bigs. I see some folks on here don't know the meaning of "brick by brick". Patience grasshoppers.

We need to see two things:

1.Will this team continue to fight or will they quit like last years team.

2, Do we have a quarterback on the roster that can make plays.

If they keep playing and find a quarterback I believe the goal of making a bowl game is still attainable.

This is a heck of an idea. Especially with the depth issues at slot. If lane gets tired you have hill and summerhill.

I think if Burton doesn't do much and we make Driskel beat us with the pass they don't score 20

Yes, but can the Vols score one more than Florida?:search:

:twocents:The main thing I would like to see is a QB who will actually run the ball out of the read option. Imo, it will help all aspects of the offense be more productive.

I want a Sunday morning where I'm not dragging myself to church asking for forgiveness for whatever I might have done the night before.
