What do y'all think Georgia's record will be in 2014? I think UGA goes 8-4 with losses to Clemson,South Carolina,Missouri and Auburn. Coach Richt will be on the hotseat going into 2015.

7-5. Richt is a master at under achieving. Of all the top recruiting states, he coaches at the only one that doesn't have significant in state competition. Yet, he still can't get the job done.

Yeah,I think Richt does less with more than anybody else in the Country.

I pray to god that he continues to do JUST ENOUGH to keep his job... Imagine what that place do with a real coach?

It's on near equal footing with the UT job, just with the nations hottest bed of talent. You bring in a guy like Butch in there who makes it a priority to "lock down the state" AND can coach... Watch out.

Long live Richt at UGA.

Agreed. I want the guy to get a lifetime contract.

A Butch-like coach at UGA is scary, but thank God we have Butch here.

8-4 sounds about right. But it could either way in the post Murray era.

Don't think SC, Clemson or Missouri being as good as last year. The loss of Murray will be huge but UGA will have enough offense, especially with Mitchell coming back, to beat all of those. Pruitt is a big upgrade from Grantham and he will whip the defense into shape. They likely win the east with the lone loss to Auburn.

Lots of people recruit Ga. Atlanta is pretty much an open city because so few people who live there have deep roots in the place. Clemson and the Barn also have huge presences in the state. I don't think they're a sleeping giant like Florida in the pre Spurrier days.

Florida has a lot of people without "deep roots" also. Georgia doesn't even have significant in state competition like Florida does. UGA and UNC are the two biggest sleeping giants around.

GT May not provide much resistance, but Fla State and Clemson might as we'll be in state schools.

Except they're not. And Florida has to contend against FSU and Miami in state. I don't even see this as debatable. If Richt could sign the majority of his states top prospects and keep them out of the pen, he'd have a whole of SEC and BSC banners to hangup.

Of course I can debate it. It's impossible to sign the top players in a state that produces so much talent, not to mention that UGA also recruits FL and the Carolinas very well.

Also, many players have no connections to the instate schools. Some players are mainly interested with early playing time. I could go on and on. Recruiting always works itself out when you have a competent staff that can recruit well.
