What do you hate about Florida?

I hate that the media loves them year in and year out even though they lose 5 games a year and teams like Tennessee get no love from the media.

The smug, we're better than you attitude of the fans (not all Lawgator... :D ). In my mind, Florida is the johnny come lately, new money, classless, no respect punk program. Their history and tradition can't match ours, and I know all of us VOL fans take pride in that - but it made losing to them in the 90s that much more bitter.

The rivalry really didn't start until '90, and it got started with a bang and was nasty from the outset. For all these reasons the Florida game is my favorite and most anticipated of the season.

EVERYTHING!!! It got nuclear when I read the Sunday paper after the first game when the SEC realigned. Paper said that during and after the game in Gainesville approximately 60 Gator fans were arrested for spitting on, throwing drinks on and cussing the Vol fans that had gone down there to watch the game.. :moon2:

everything from ever aspect you look at it... and honestly i was just sayin the other day how much of an idiot i would feel like doin the whole gator chomp thing... i mean theres certain things we do like the "WHOOAAA" after goood ole rocky top "WHOA" rockytop tennessee uno but if i was clapping vertically i would absolutely feel like the biggest idiot ever!

I think the paper was putting it politely. I've heard that it it was even worse than that!!!!

Yeah well If someone throw something like that at me I dont knwo If I could control myself. Even though I would be out numbered I know I would have got a punch in.

I think this post nails it for me. My sister and brother-in-law have gone to all the away SEC venues over the years and they will never go back to Gainesville. The treatment by trashy fans (throwing things including lit cigarettes for example) just isn't worth it.

That and Spurrier :blush2:

Yeah, back in '95 after the game some of the florida fans were (how do I put this politely) uhhhh..... "releaving" themselves off of the balcony, onto some of our fans. And out in the parking lot, they were throwing FULL cans of beer at them!!!!!! Not cups of beer....... FULL, unopened cans!!!! That's INSANE!!!!!!

A is for alligator-
B is for bad mannered fans
C is for Chrissy
D is for detour (hate that there is not one to avoid going through it to get to the beach)
E is for everything
F is for Florida
G is for gator chomp
H is for hiesman hype
I is for ignorance (of fans who spit and throw things at rivals)
J is for junk offense
K is for the missed kicks that led to the last minute ulcer creating drive
L is for Leak
M is for Meyer
N is noxious fumes that emit from the skeeter infested wastelands of Gainesville
O is for obnoxious fanbase
P is for the putrid smell of a swamp
Q is quack (what this offense will be exposed as after Saturday)
R is for running backs (haven't liked any that came from FL)
S is for swamp
T is for tired old excuses for losses
U is for Urban
V is for the stolen victory by Gaffney's "catch"
W is for thier wins against us
X is for the xtra ordinary annoying gator chomp music
Y is for yearly visit of gator flamers (although they have been quieter this yr and the regulars here have been pretty civil and known that this list is all in jest, well most of it anyway)
Z is for Zook (ever since faxgate)

It's not that I hate Florida so much as I despise the Leak family. F.G. Leak is a traitor, and I hope Chrissy gets knocked out. Nothing serious just keep him out of the game.

For me it would have to be the jerk punter last year that was punting from sideline to sideline and bouncing balls off the student section and some band members. Did anyone else see this during half time last year. I'm pretty sure the band person got tagged in the head.
