What are 1, or 2 things max that you are looking for/hoping to see on this foreign trip? For me…

1. Can Freddie handle PG? Not sure we get a definitive answer but I think we can at least come out of this trip either feeling better or worse, I’m hoping better.

2. Can we be better offensively? Last year we were 196th in PPG @70.8ppg (that stat can be skewed by possessions), but 255th in 3pt% @32.9% isn’t and neither is 212th in 2pt% @50.3% or 220th in FT% @70.8%. Again, doubt we get a definitive answer but we can come out of this feeling optimistic or very blah.

1. Freddie handling PG duties
2. How does knecht hold up on defense

I don't think it's fair to draw too many conclusions with these international exhibition games. The competition is typically pretty abysmal. However, I agree that it will be interesting to see how PG is handled without Zeigler.

Another thing I want to look at is rotations. I know that you can't take much from these games especially rotations, but it will be interesting to see who gels with who and so on.

1. Dillone as a solid point guard option.
2. Fewer scoring droughts.
3. Become a dominating rebounding squad.

I just want all the kids from NY, don’t care what they are ranked. Those kids can ball.

ZZ and Awaka, both low ranked guys. Those kids up there have something to prove.

I know this belongs in a different thread, apologies

It seems Dillone can play PG well,do what ZZ gets heathier do you see him going back to starting or playing the finisher role as him and KC done his Freshmen year...

Honestly, I hope to see us just get through these games healthy. Have a good time, enjoy the scenery but get home in one piece.

Can Aidoo develop any kind of offensive skills. Vols need his length
Will there be another consistent 3 point threat to take some of the pressure off Vescovi
Do the Vols have anyone who can beat his man off the dribble and finish at the rim
Can someone get Knecht an NLI deal with with a tanning salon

Personally I think Dillione has shown the ability to handle the ball at an effective level. Awaka will dominate pretty much anybody on the glass. This team still shows signs that they’ll likely struggle against teams that have superior length.

Edit: because I can’t type.

Little surprised at that Estrella looked decent: rotated on defense, was challenging shots at the rim, decent rebounding, finished his inside shots, can screen. I know, i know. The competition... but still, for first look I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for sharing the stat lines, watched both games on YT thanks to Freak and I came away with these impressions.

1. Mashack, Awaka, Aidoo have all continued to get better with their game and will have impacts on this team's success this season.
2. Freddie, JP, & Gainey were very impressive as new additions to the rotation. Gainey and Freddie both look more than capable of finding their shots. JP rebounded well and has some great touch around the rim, further along than any big straight outta HS we've had in awhile
3. Knecht can shoot it from deep! Will be interesting to see how he holds up conditioning wise for a full grind in SEC play, he looked to be a better offensive threat than JJJ but no where near as strong of a presence on defense

Team is extremely deep with talent well into the 10th man. Would have liked to see some of Carr and Cade since it's just an exhibition game, but understand why they didn't get any minutes. ZZ can take his time and return at 100% I think between Freddie, Gainey, and Mashack I think PG will not be a huge concern early in the season. In SEC play ZZ returning will have a huge impact though.

JJJ attempting 12 threes total stands out to me. We probably prefer someone else taking that shot. 6 attempted threes a game from him is a lot. I understand it is just an exhibition game and it doesn't mean squat, but it has seemed he has always settled for 3 pointers when his strength seems to be the mid-range. But I guess you can make an argument that it's better to shoot the 3 than the mid-range shot nowadays.

I don’t remember him taking any pull-ups though. Mostly catch-and-shoot. I’m pretty sure Barnes coaches them to let it fly if they get an open look from the corner like that 🤷‍♂️

Definitely wasn't forcing 3s or anything, we faced a good bit of zone once they realized they couldn't play man. Freddie, Santi, and Mashack didn't take more because they were facilitating a lot, especially in game 1. Game 2 is when Santi took and hit the bulk of his 6 of 9 from deep.

DJ shooting 1-8 with such low minutes was actually more concerning for me. He should be an explosive driver that doesn't settle from deep.
