DE- Corey Vereen- in several games showed why the staff was high on him had I think like 2-3 sacks in O and W Game.
DT- Jason Carr- Big and Physical and very talented time will tell with this one.
DT- Danny O’Brien- He’s put in the time and effort and had a few good games last year. Backed up McCullers
DE- Jordan Williams- Really unsure about this one I went back and forth on this one im almost tempted to put Hendrix here. I really hope this one pans out.

LB- Chris Weatherd- A top Juco who can move side to side and covers a lot of ground. In his highlight film some of those hits were hard to look at.
LB- AJ Johnson- Sr. year each year hes the top performing LB at UT.
LB- Curt Maggitt- Same as AJ. Only I really think he will surprise some people how much better he has gotten since the injury and will hopefully catapult himself in to the 1st round next year.

S- Brian Randolph- Sr. year time to see what a real Secondary coach can do with a year under his belt.
S- Justin Coleman- Same thing as B.R. really hoping either mcdowell or Kelly will take his spot he got picked on a lot last year granted he played DB though but he seems like he would play better at a safety position.
CB- Cameron Sutton- The teams most reliable threat last year on defense one of the better DB’s UT has had since J. Greer.
CB- Riyahd Jones- A little unknown and kind of a stretch but I really couldn’t think of anyone else to put here.

Few questions here ..

-When did Carr make the move to DT ? If so that boy needs to start eating now.

- LB looks about right . JRM / Bryant / Bates will see the field as well.

- S ? Why do you think Coleman transitions to Safety ..

- CB What have you seen from Riyahd ?

I think the starting secondary will likely be the same.

Vereen has a long way to go before becoming an every down DE.

If Saulsberry is healthy, he starts... and it ain't close. The battle will be for back up and the other spot.

I will be surprised if JRM isn't a starter at LB.

Honestly it was just an idea based on how he play insinctively and not speed wise. i really Mcdowell takes up this spot i just wasnt comfortable putting a freshman on there atp atleast not until after spring...

on Jones theres really not much out there but who else do you give the nod to besides Payne.

i think weatherd and CM will basically be used in the same role - i think JRM will take the other LB spot

also think a FR will start oppososite Cam a few games into the year and a FR will start at nickel corner

I think the speed upgrade in the secondary will come more from the nickel corner and the 2 deep - however i don't think the spot opposite Cam is locked by any stretch of the imagination

I don't think any spot is locked on D except for MLB and S with AJ and Randolph.... assuming.

I suspect however that a Sr with speed, experience, and now a year starting in this system will be very difficult to knock out. At best, you are trading mistakes for mistakes.

Mcneil ?

Wouldn't put Mcdowell in front of Kelly imo.

Coleman or Payne will be at CB . Coleman will play nickel if not CB , same for Payne.

285 Pounds on a 6'5 frame ain't that big ..

Boy needs to be 300 plus to move lineman in this league in the middle. DT's see Double Teams all the time.

6'8 350 lb Mccullers - That's a DT .

Sutton's spot is also safe. Our best player on D. Maybe the team.

I agree you trade mistakes for mistakes but if there aren't appreciably more I'd throw the FR in and hope it can help him be better in the future

just depends on how ready they end up being - if 1 is as ready as Cam then he starts no question - but those don't come around every year

ESPN's Todd McShay on AJ Johnson: 'There seems to be consensus among the [scouts] I've spoken to that he should wind up returning.' #Vols

Think we are going to see more disruptive DT's and less space-eater DT's. Look at some great disruptive DT's around the SEC 285 is enough from a weight standpoint. But now, throwing a weight number around is not the same thing as noting a players strength level. One players 285 is not the same as another players 285.

DL- plug in Owen Williams, JUCO that just signed, in front of Carr or O'Brien; Hope Hendrix can supplant Jordan Williams... He's not good enough

S- Randolph will be a RS Jr, not a Sr; I see Coleman more at Nickel, but I'd take him at S before CB.

CB- hope Jones steps up. Look for Mike Williams, Foreman, Payne and Gaulden to challenge.

LB- not sure if he can win a starting spot, but I believe Jalen Reeves-Maybin has a big impact at OLB.

Edit:
DE- hope a guy like Kendall Vickers can step in after having a RS and contribute. Not excited about Williams.
