What do YOU want to hear from Butch today?

With Butch coming up in a couple of hours, I was wondering what VolNation wanted to hear from Butch. I know we're going to get a lot of coach speak about the program in general, but I would love to hear some answers with substance.

What's the true QB outlook from the inside?

Where is the O-line? The D-line?

What can we expect out of the secondary?

What do you want answered?

don't want to hear anything. talk is cheap. show it on the field and earn his money.

"Coach, can you give us any information about a front runner for the starting quarterback position?"

"Let me tell you. We've got a very talented group of quarterbacks that are competing for the starting position. Justin Worley just came back from a great performance at Peyton's camp. He's a senior and we're looking for that confidence that comes from his position this year. Joshua Dobbs. He's a bright kid that has the potential to be a great piece of the future here at Tennessee. Nathan Peterman had a good showing during spring practice and shows flashes at times.

Let me just say, we're in a great position here at Tennessee when it comes to the quarterback position. Justin Worley is in his senior year and he was beginning to show his potential last year before his injury. He's been putting a lot of effort in this off season and I feel like he's really going to show his true potential this year under center.

Joshua Dobbs. What can I say. This is a very bright, talented young man that literally has the sky as his potential. He's a leader on and off the field and I see him doing great things here at Tennessee. Joshua struggled last year at times, but let's not forget that he was a true freshman that was put in against Alabama for his first game. He's got the potential to be a very important brick in the future of Tennessee football. I respect this young man for everything that he has done this off season to further his skills at the quarterback position.

Nathan Peterman had a rough time last year during the Florida game. But don't count him out. He has pushed through that dark time in his career at Tennessee with a positive attitude and his character has grown because of it. Nathan has really shown that mental toughness that we are so focused on here at Tennessee. Competition breeds greatness.

Here at Tennessee we believe in an "earn it" philosophy and the starting job, at any position, will go to the player that earns it. It doesn't matter if it's under center or in the backfield. The player that shows me that he deserves to be on the field that week will be on the field."

"Any other questions?"

"Process, mentally tough, snap and clear, leadership, growth, young men of character...blah, blah, blah."

Nothing to see here. Move along.

That the remaining slots in this class are filled with silent commits from 5* DTs and OLs.

They are both decent, neither is great. which is why there is still a battle going on. CBJ knows who he will be starting, but does not want opposing teams to know just yet.

Where is the O-line? The D-line?

In much better shape then people think. neither line was very good last year, and we have better players replacing them. They only need experience.

What can we expect out of the secondary?

Better then last year by a huge amount, a much better pass rush will help them out a great deal also.

We need to improve on both sides of the ball

We made coaching errors last year and look to improve in those areas

1. He and a couple of the other Head Coaches (no names) gave Saban a wedgie last night.
2. The Ol Ball Coach can sure pound back some cocktails.
3. The reason that Muschamp always looks like he is going to pop a vain in his head is because he wears kids underroos.
4. Mason seems like a nice guy and didn't hit on his wife.

I think we should start a drinking game based upon how many times butch says "individual", "mental toughness/mentally tough", etc.

That he punched Saban in the nose last night at the hotel bar

Actually he hit him in the nose with his knee as he was walking by.

An accident I'm sure. Just like when Smokey walked over to him and he was accidently tea bagged!
