As an out-of-the-closet star gazer, why is Clemson doing so well in recruiting? They are now 5th on Rivals and doing extremely well. Dan Brooks seems to be locking up great relationships with a lot of solid players. Hearing his name quite a bit. Not much to look at, but he seems to be a great recruiter. We certainly did well while he was here. Never gave it much thought, but that guy seems to have been very under-appreciated here at UT. Hmmm.

At UT Brooks got more props than any other assistant, even on VN.

It looks like Dabo is buying time with recruiting. Big mistake on Clempson's part.

Absolutely Nothing!

1. I have toured their "new" facilities...They are nice, BUT not even in the same league ie...no indoor facility. We will continue to widen that gap with our new digs.. :)

2. I met Kevin Steele the other day and he said that he had spoken with DD earlier in the week and is really proud of the work he is doing...let's just much more than he was with Kiffy... :birgits_giggle:

3. They have a decent campus, similar to Auburn's. But, Clemson is in the middle of nowhere. Some students just like the small town atmosphere it's not a bad place to watch a game. Also, it's a flat better school than USCjr & UGA (The closest other big schools).

4. Coach Brooks is a nice fella and he likes it here, but something tells me he'll always be a Vol at heart, even though UT broke it...They love him here and I'm sure he is still a damn good recruiter.

Brooks is nowhere near one of their better recruiters and he was awful in recruiting at Tennessee in his final years. The only reason it seems he's doing "good" from UT's perspective is because he is the one recruiting Pagan.

Their best recruiters on their staff are Dabo, Napier, Steele, Harbison and Brad Scott. And all of them are good recruiters. I'll give Dabo credit for one thing, he did assemble a hell of a recruiting staff. His best 5 recruiters are as good as anywhere. Steele has always been an Elite recruiter and Brad Scott is doing a hell of a job this year for them in Florida. The problem with them appears to be coaching.

I love that pic. It's hilarious. I can't even remember this kids name, but we were in his top 3 if I remember right. Didn't he get kicked off the team at Clemson? I was thinking he wasn't even there anymore.

What about a coaching staff that has been there longer then a year? That makes a big difference

They have an easier schedule with lower expectations.. A coaching staff that's been there more than 11 months helps too.
