what does everyone think of not having divisions

I dunno but there would be a lot of logistical bs to work out.

Somebody will ***** every year around how they got jobbed and did not go to the championship game

The NCAA should eliminate the divisional requirement for title games. It would be the best of all worlds.

Yeah, but it can't just be that simple. For example, how would you settle who played in the SEC championship last season?

Prior to 1992, UT played UF, UGA, LSU, and Miss. St. sparingly. Their annual SEC games included:

Auburn
Bama
UK
Vandy
Ole Miss
1 of the above.

About the only way I see to do it is to have 4 permanent games and 4-5 rotating games. The top 2 at the end play in the SEC CG.

I would love to see the tie-breaker rules for this.

How about keeping the divisions, but cross-division games only serve as a tie breaker for the SECCG? The division winners are selected based on their record against divisional opponents and cross-division games are considered as the first or second tie breaker. That way cross-divisional rivalries can remain intact and people like spurrier have less to complain about.

If the cross-divisional games count for so little, we should just form two separate conferences.

I remember when going to a bowl was a huge deal. And how the sugar bowl was the crown jewel.
Hate where college ball is going.

Spurrier actually was complaining less this last go round. Les Miles is the one making the most noise about SEC and the scheduling setup.

Just keep adding teams to the SEC then we can split into four divisions and have an SEC final four tourney. I'm just kidding of course, but it would be pretty cool to watch

It's still huge to go bowling.

I know. I love how some people act like everybody gets to go to a bowl and it's no big deal when we haven't been in three years

The problem is there is very little excitement for a team like UT to go play in the Birmingham Bowl or the Weedeater Bowl...even though UT hasn't been to a bowl game in a long time.

It's kinda dumb that it will be almost a decade before A&M comes to Kville to play a game when we're in the same conference. Same with us going to LSU
