what does everyone think of not having divisions

I like the idea of it.... Although there would be a crap ton to work out, like traditional rivalries, who plays who in the SECCG, etc.

right after jet packs

I don't know...The guy may be on to something. Jet Packs may come first but if four conferences happen before I die, I don't think I'll be surprised. The SEC is expanding west and conferences are even going as far as to change names to accommodate new teams. I thought I would die before a team in TX would be named to the SEC. I'm still here and you know the rest. I guess I'm just saying to keep an open mind...anything can happen.

I like the current set up along with the SECG. Agree with Bamawriter that shouldn't be automatic bid. Not sure how the new playoff system works and if it is or not.

Use existing tiebreakers and add in overall record and, point differential, etc.

Point differential should never be used as a tie breaker in any sport. Every game is different and some teams match up better against others.

Let's say Kentucky has built thier defense to slow down the Spread/Hurry up attack. They play Auburn tough and only lose by 4. Then UGA comes in with a prostyle attack and burns 'em for a 3 TD win. Then flip it around to Vandy who has built their team to slow down the prostyle attack. UGA squeaks out a 7 point win while Auburn wins by 24.

Is Auburn's win over Vandy really any better than UGA's win over UK?

Throw in other factors like weather and players injured on any given game day and it's just not a fair comparison.

Fair enough. Point differential wasn't the best example.

Still, there are many many ways that a tie can be broken.

Just keep adding teams to the SEC then we can split into four divisions and have an SEC final four tourney. I'm just kidding of course, but it would be pretty cool to watch

I'd love for us to be in the SEC "North" with Vandy, Kentucky, and possibly USC/NC State/or VA Tech.

We'd win that every year haha
