They rank 8th in Pass Defense.

However, their competition ranks 85th, 75th, 82nd, 80th, 24th, and 99th in passing offense. We rank 8th.

Add to that, the only decent passing team they faced (UK ranked 24th in passing offense) threw for 289 yards against them (45 y/g above their season average).

Auburn (80th) and UGA (75th) both hit their season averages against the Cocks as well.

I'm not trying to talk smack with you guys, but I feel you're not giving us our due credit, simplying saying that we're not good because of our history...Cory Boyd has three straight 100 yard games coming into Saturday...Syvelle is averaging about 210 yds passing, about 40 yds rushing a game, and we're converting over 50% of our third downs...on defense, Fred Bennet will give Meachem all he can handle, and if Ainge gets greedy Fred can come out of nowhere with those long arms he has. Our whole front 7 is coming into its own now finally with all the youth, and with Jasper Brinkley in the middle, you might as well try to run through a wall. Anyway should be a good game guys...any of yall headed for Columbia?

Actually here is what we do well:

Move the ball on 3rd down with Syvelle as QB (over 50% conversion ratio)

Get the ball to playmakers like Sydney and Kenny

Play D...just check the stats...nuff said

WIN-we do that well and ya'll will see it tomorrow...

ok here is your "stats"
They've yet to beat a team with a winning record, and the combined record of their five victims (Mississippi State, Florida Atlantic, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Division I-AA Wofford) is 13-24.

Third down conversions: UT 2nd in the country; USC 28th.

Play D - stats - Average offensive rating of SC's opponents? 87th (range from 59th to 111th).

USC has more playmakers than UT, and I really believe that we have as many athletes as they do. I know we have a better coach. The only thing we may be lacking is depth on the O line and D line, however help is on the way because our recruiting is going well.
