RGIII, Moore, Luck, Boyd and Lattimore in no particular order. RGIII has to go on the road to College Station then Stillwater in back to back weeks... I think he's going to drop out of the race after that. Wilson will take his place, especially if Wisconsin beats Nebraska this weekend, the Big Ten will be the Badgers to lose at that point.

Agreed with whoever said Robinson has no business being on there. He can run and is exciting to watch, but anybody who thinks he is anything other than a god awful passer can't tell a football apart from a tumor.

Mathieu another forced fumble and recovery for a TD. He is a turnover machine college football has never seen. Tied the LSU record for forced fumbles last week, broke the record today in 5 games into his Sophomore year.

RGIII is electric, but I think he fades as Baylor fades later in the season.

Lattimore is going to get his - but he isn't going to put up insane numbers unless USCe can get some offensive rhythm going (i.e., a better passing game).

Russel Wilson. Look out for this one. They will play good enough opponents to earn respect, and he is going to do very well in this offense. He has a running game to be respected, and can tear it up given that.

Lamichael James. Oregon is going to get drowned out this season and so will James. He's good, could be Heisman worthy, but I don't see it.

Kellen Moore - next.

Matthieu of LSU - I actually like this. He's too young, but he brings a awesome dimension to a team that will vie for a national title. Not yet.

Andrew Luck - the guy's pretty good. Depending on how things play out, this could heat up.

Justin Blackmon - Dynamic WR. True game changer. Depending on how the season progresses, he could make a move; but, perception will be a challenge.

Thinking about all of these guys, I keep coming back to Russell Wilson. Is it possible? I think so...

The one thing you notice about the Heisman. They are always the #1 option on their team.

Russell Wilson is not even the #2 option on his team.

So it's really hard for me to say "You know, I think Russell Wilson should win the Heisman, even though he's the #3 option in his backfield."

Not taking away anything from Wilson. Great player. Just how I see it.

Luck is on pace for 3,039 yards, a 33/3 TD-INT ratio. If Stanford wins 10-12 games, that should get him the Heisman, especially with the TD-INT ratio. Voters love that (aka Troy Smith in 2006).

LaMichael James. James is on pace for 1,850 yards and 21 TD's just rushing. But he sucked in the LSU game and has played nobody so far. I don't think he'll have the numbes.

If Baylor can win 8-9 games, RG3 has a great shot. On pace for 3,925 yards, 36-3 TD/INT, 82.3% completion. Also add 500 yards rushing. He won't keep that up, but He can easily get 4,000 total yards, 30 TD's, and 75% completion. He's got a shot.

Marcus Lattimore and Trent Richardson are interesting cases. Lattimore projected line: 1,625 yards, 22 TD's, 5.5 YPC. Also, he's a workhouse. Voters love workhorses. Is his team good enough and can he stay healthy? Richardson's UF game was huge. Big stage, big game, big performance. 1,500 yards, 24 TD's, 6.5 YPC. He's not a workhorse like Lattimore though. His team will be better, even his numbers maybe, but will the voters still think he's better than Lattimore?

Blackmon has no shot. Brandon Weeden does. On pace for 4,800 yards. 30 TD's. Throws too many picks (six already), but completes 75% of his passes. And what if they win the Big XII?

Kellen Moore was the favorite still last Saturday. When mid-major QB's contend for the Heisman, you see two things. Huge yardage amounts and low INT's. Plus good teams. Moore right now is on pace for 3,400 yards. THat would be the lowest totaly of his career. His TD pace looks great (42) but 12 INT's is going to hurt. He completes 74% of his passes, so that helps. Moore has no shot if he can't throw for 4,000 yards and less than 10 picks. Plus they have to stay undefeated.

The favorite though is still Landry Jones. On pace for 4,350 yards with a 30/15 TD-INT ratio. The thing is, he is nowhere near pace for attempts like last year. Threw 617 last year, on pace for 465 this year. He didn't play the 4th quarter last game, and threw 48 times against Mizzou. He'll throw more. Cut down the picks, and add a few more TD's, he's the favorite, especially if they are undefeated.

JMO.

One quick thing: If Jones and Luck don't have 11-12 win seasons, then Richardson will probably be the guy. If he can get 20 TD's and 1500 yards while his team is undefeated, he will probably win.

I was about to say the same thing. He got a ton of praise after the ND game but I saw a bunch of hail marys against a clueless secondary.

Im a Michigan State guy, but I still think that Robinson is an exciting football player. But he is NOT a quarterback. I may watch the um -v- o$u game this year just to play the "does anyone complete a pass" drinking game. Although if I had to wait for them to complete a pass to take a drink I may die of thirst.

Love the Robinson kid as a person, and as a playmaker when he takes off down field. But no one should ever confuse him with a quarterback. He makes Tim Tebow look like Johnny Unitas/Bart Starr/Roger Staubach/Terry Bradshaw/need I go on. . .

To me: This Heisman is Richardson's to lose. If he continues to play as he has these first few games, he will win it easily. Luck needs luck to win. Wilson will get exposed somewhere down the line. Wiscy will lose 2 games, not sure where, but he will be ugly in the process.

Richardson
Luck
Moore
Wilson
Lattimore
