What happened after that missed offsides?

Florida was off sides and the refs did not call it, it was very obvious. I actually think the refs screwed TN on a few plays yesterday.

I thought they were lined up in the neutral zone before the ball was ever snapped. In my mind, I was thinking free play. Was that not the same play where we got hit with offensive pass interference?

At any rate, I am not a fan of the linemen staying set in that situation. I think you need to play on and let the refs do their job (or not).

Florida was offsides. Should have been a free play. Linemen need to freaking block in that and any situation so we don't get our QB killed and have a chance at completing our free play. Offensive pass interference was called when it wasn't even close to that. Took us out of FG range. Terrible all around. Worse ref call of the game.

A Fg there would have been huge.

The whole deal where the o-line doesn't move on plays like that is patently stupid.

It's also a signal to the refs - "every offensive player saw it, I should have seen it too...better throw this flag", but they flat out missed FL lined up in the neutral zone.

SEC needs to review both ends of that play.

I can't quite wrap my mind around how the head linesman didn't see Fla. lined up in the neutral zone. Isn't that his primary responsibility? What a joke:crazy:

Was offsides and was NOT PI. The ball was uncatchable by the intended receiver and the defender. We had a couple of crappy calls go against us that hurt. That was one of them. Not saying it would have changed the game drastically but when you are playing on a thin line between success and failure like we are in these type games, you can't afford crappy refs.

I agree. Not not only the missed offsides but earlier they spotted FL a good foot and half for a first down then later spotted is about 6 inches short. Striped shirts were definitely on FL's side yesterday.

End of the day though, FL tried to give us that game early but we gave it right back. Missed opportunities screwed us more than the refs.

Missed call all the way around. Even Danielson thought it was a trick play. It's not. It's the same play that occurred in the WK game. The linemen are taught not to move when someone jumps offsides. The refs were a joke- bad calls and horrible spots. Par for the course in the SEC. I will never understand how such a great conference has horrible officiating.

Yeah, they missed that call and maybe a couple others, but they weren't necessarily game changers.

Danielson's comments about the play were among the most football ignorant things I have heard an announcer contribute to something he didn't understand. Embarrassing.

He actually thought that it was a designed offensive PASS play where the OFFENSIVE LINE DOESN'T ATEMPT TO BLOCK THE DEFENSE!

I agree Danielson is moronic.

I agree, and they call pass interference on Croom, but he was going for the football which he has a right to do. That should have been a no call, because the db initiated the contact with Croom, and a penalty on the Gators for being offsides.

Even if he committed pass interference, they were offsides.

So it's irrelevant. We should have got 5 yards and replayed the down.

You are exactly right. This O Line is coached to freeze when the opponent is off sides. It is supposed to make the call by the refs easier, but in this case, the refs did not make the call.

Our QB picked up the off sides, and thought he had a fee play.
