What happened on the play Musket fumbled the hand off to the RB?

I’m not throwing shade at the play, it can be really effective. Just don’t call it a pass.

Guess my memory wasn’t correct on Manning’s 50th or record tie TD
What you are proposing is wording the rule to something like " a forward pass is defined as a ball that goes forward relative to the line of scrimmage unless it is thrown underhanded." Football rules are complicated enough without introducing philosophical contextualizing to the wording.

I just don’t like the idea of a “shovel” going for a 50 yard TD and the QB gets credit for a 50 yard passing TD

In the replay, it shows that the ball completely left Musket's hands and went forward before touching the RB and then hitting the ground.

This makes it an incomplete forward pass. The call was correct.

Had Musket still been touching the ball as it hit the RB, then it would have been a botched handoff and fumble.
Bingo. End thread.

Shovel pass could be devastating in Heupel’s playbook. Didn’t we run one or two last season?
They were too busy leading the ****ing nation in offense with the plays they had.

Did you miss the shovel passes to Fant? I guess so.

That was the one I was trying to remember. Thanks! (Seriously). I couldn’t recall the details

If it had been Alabama or Georgia it would have been a scoop and score no matter what any rule states.
