What happens if Mizzu wins handily?

Will be ugly. Volnation should prepare itself for disappointment. We don't match up well against Missouri. They will pour it on for style points.

Missouri is talented...but so is every stinkin' team in the SEC. There are realistically no "easy wins" in the SEC. If you don't believe me, ask the 2011 Vols about Kentucky and their 4th string WR/ QB that beat us.

Missouri is beatable though. They have proven about as much as we have this season. Against their first opponent who was even remotely full strength, they lost. You're obviously basing your opinion on Missouri's performance against an overwhelming schedule. Oh wait...

And yes, I know they beat UGA and FLA; however, we kept up with both the bulldogs and the gators. We were one inch away against a Georgia team that was ranked at the time, and had we not killed ourselves with 5 turnovers against the Gators, we would've been in that game at the very end as well.

We may not win this Saturday night. But, I refuse to believe that we are 11 points worse than Missouri. I guess we'll just have to find out.

Mizzou has to be worried about our QB situation, as weird as that sounds.

They have essentially nothing to go off of.

neither do we. we don't know how Dobbs or Ferguson will react to having to take a game plan into a game and execute it. They have never done it.

That is much different than coming into a game already decided.

Staff THINKS they know but there is a lot of uncertainty with them

This nugget of fact has gotten lost on here.

Good point, LWS. Different dynamic than the 'Bama gm. What I am encouraged by is Dobbs' poise, the composure he demonstrated. The gm may have been decided but 'Bama didn't stop coming hard Saban, his teams play the entire 60 minutes.
Mizzou front seven are good particularly their front four but they're not 'Bama, esp their secondary talent. They have not played a better OL than Tennessee. I expect Dobbs to initially have some jitters but settle in and that the OL handle Mizzou.

I believe we can all expect Dobbs to have jitters, but looking at the Alabama game he really didn't. The only things that I saw was staring down a receiver of which the pass got blocked at the line of scrimmage.

They will more than likely play zone coverage and timing routes will be critical.

Another area is his decisions on whether or not to throw it away or trying to zip it into tight coverage.

We should be balanced on offense between the Run/Pass. The more comfortable and the sooner he can gets to the comfortable level the better for us and the bigger the win.

In the grand scheme it's expected. Just got Kentucky and Vandy to make six. I'm on the border of apathy again but just keep telling myself six is all I ever said we would win. This game has fueled my interest because of Dobb's.

If the game is something like 30-13 how will you react?

I appreciate the optimism (unheard of around here) about this upcoming game but Mizzu is still a really good team and our freshman is making his 1st start -on the road. Did Mizzu benefit from damaged Florida and Georgia (could make the case if Shaw was in the entire game they'd have won easily)? Yes. Does it give hope because we recently beat SCjr? Sure.

I just hope there's not a sour attitude around here if they don't even keep it within one score.

Here's to Team 117!

It will be pathetic that they are new to the SEC and we can't beat them.

Why? Do they have a first year HC? A new coaching staff? Totally new offensive and defensive schemes? Played a very tough schedule so far? A rookie QB with all very young receivers? Do they have a very young defense?

I will be upset if we lose. However it would not be anywhere near as bad as last years loss.

I will feel like I have felt all season ...that we are a 6 win team and anything beyond that is gravy.

I feel like better teams are in our very near future .

Newsflash! We are not supposed to win this game. Hopefully Dobbs will perform well though.

OP, are you suggesting that this place tends to over-react? Surely not!

Let's see, leading up to the Oregon game many on here were certain UT would win based on the performance against WKU.

After losing people wanted Worley benched in favor of Peterman. They got their wish then questioned Jones for that decision. Now, those same fans that wanted Peterman (simply because he managed a td drive against Oregon's walk-ons) want him gone.

Fast forward to last week, coming off the USC win, people were thinking Bama was going down.

Yeah, I think it is safe to say this place will go into a frenzy should UT lose to Mizzou.

Every single one of these is a gross exaggeration.

Pot, kettle....:lolabove:

@OP...it certainly could happen, but I don't think they get anywhere near that margin of victory without Franklin, or even with a Franklin rusty from injury.

I will grant you that we could lost the game, but I doubt it will be by more than 10 if so.

This game will probably go to whoever makes the most breaks in terms of turnovers, and we have been great at that this year.

If we get 6 wins this regular season , I will label this a good year bc of all the adversity Butch and Co had to overcome. I would like 7 wins, 8 will be me deliriously happy, but 6 will do. 6 wins means a bowl game, more practice, more TV exposure and lots of other stuff.

They beat the same Gators we lost to like a drum without FRANKLIN playing at all. We might beat them, if they turn the ball over and we don't. It is possible, not likely.

if we lose like the last 3 games we have a problem. no excuses. win or keep it close. if we get blown out butch and company have a problem coaching kids during away games which is an attention and focus problem. i don't think recruiting can completely fix this one and you can't win championships without winning on the road be it with the best staff in america or the worst.
