If "blow through the NCAAs" means a sweet 16 apperance, then I agree. Anything beyond that is a pipe dream at this point.

Agreed. If we make it out of the first weekend that will qualify as making a silk purse out of a sow's ear for this year.

Where's the excitement? Where is the fire in the coach and in the team?

What's so different about this year that we're playing so horribly at times. We beat two of the best teams in the nation to start the year off and then we go on a slide of epic proportions. We are 7-7 in a mediocre(at best) SEC. Scotty is finally playing up to his billing, Tobias is as good as advertised...and we are still losing. I don't understand how we come off the best season in school history and get so complacent at this point in the season. If they are hoping to make a run that mirrors last year's run then they are setting themselves up for a long and uphill climb to do so. Can one weak link(Melvin) really be the cause of all the problems?

We were predicted preseason to finish 5th in the SecE... We are exactly where most people thought we would be. Why all the hoopla ? We were'nt supposed to be great this year... and guess what.. We aren't. Nothing new here

The bottomline is we start two McDonald's All-Americans and have multiple top 100 players coming off the bench. We should be better than what we are.

I understand the concern. The off-court issues are definitely affecting everyone within the program, no matter how much they say it isn't. We've been very inconsistent, but when we play well and play hard, we are one of the best teams out. I don't think the coaching staff lacks "fire" at all.

I know one thing, if one weak link is the cause of all the problems, it's not Goins. Golden has played extremely poorly as a back-up. Tatum has disappeared the latter half of the season. Same goes for Brian Williams. McBee has lost himself in the depth chart. There has to be more production on the offensive side of the ball. The offensive in general is sloppy and ineffective.

2-7 in games decided on the last possession. If that's 7-2, I wonder what this board would be like.

If your aunt had balls, she would be your uncle. The fact is, we didn't win those games. And the strategy at the end of those games just sucked at times.

Also, like I said before, there was no reason that a few of those games should have been that close.

As good as Hopson has been of late, it still baffles me how he can hit the clutch 3, then throw up either airballs or solid bricks on his next several 3 attempts. It seemed like after the 3 early in the second half Saturady night, everything else wasn't even close! Frustrating as hell to watch at times.

His slow release kills him on the midrange shots.

It is the poor stretch in the middle of the season that is damning. We lost 5 games between 12/14 and 1/8 to teams that range from mediocre to awful.

Aside from that inexplicable month of craptastic ball, we are pretty much who I thought we would be. It is those losses that make the season disappointing.

As last season ended, I said to anyone who would listen: "We're in big trouble next year unless this Golden kid can beat out Goins and at least one of the freshman can shoot." If I had known, I would have added, "And if McBee and Steven Pearl get significant minutes."

The weak link is Hamilton, for all I know Hamilton probably told Pearl to lie

You kidding? Please tell me you are. Compare what we know about the character of each man and think about that. Hamilton is a bad AD, but he is a fine man
