What I saw today

A disappointing performance today, but not disappointed with this season so far. I certainly didn’t expect us to be 8-1 at this point. Yeah, the team wilted under the heat from a really good opponent today . . . but after watching the ineptitude of the last several years, I’ll take it. Still think we’re building something again great here.

Hooker never looks to the left. Georgia just keyed on the right side. Hooker took the snap and starred the right side all game long. Then at the end of the game our online was gassed and Hooker decided to just hold the ball instead of getting rid of it

Once it started raining Kirby went ultra conservative in offense and decided to be sure he didn't give us anything cheap, gambling that we couldn't score 21 points on their defense in the time allotted. I have little confidence we could stop them consistently if they left the playbook open.
Kirby had his team ready to play. Wouldn't mind playing them again. Heupel will make the nesscary adjustments. Oh and we need a speed back!

Wasn’t impressed by Georgia, definitely wasn’t impressed with our team either. That punt in the first half changed they whole dynamic of the game.

Hooker has had accuracy problems all season. The volume of offensive plays have just been so high that he’s been able to make up for some of it. We just haven’t played a defense as good as Georgia’s that made it to where each throw was so important
His accuracy is what it is. What beat is tonight was his hesitancy. He was used to seeing guys wide open. UGA is too good. He has to learn to pull the trigger when guys are open by half a step. This is only the 2nd time he’s seen this right of a defense. He WILL adjust.

Absolutely and it can’t be understated. That was a 3 & out for our defense that the commentators didn’t acknowledge (I say that because if you listen to Daniel’s on you’ll think we are miles behind Georgia). It kept the crowd involved, resulted in 7 for UGA and contributed to Hooker be rattled.

Georgia tried to blow us out and couldn’t do it. They scored 3 points total in the second half. It was a good game mostly for the defense, but offense was awful. If the Vols get another shot at Georgia, neutral ground, Vols win.

they probably could’ve put another 14 on us honestly. Kirby closed the playbook and milked the clock nearly the whole second half. He knew we couldn’t come back against that D in two quarters. He was right. You shouldn’t be excited. Awful game in all aspects.

Georgia is much tougher up front than Bama, and their CBs play bump and run...Great scheme if your QB doesn't have time to throw...
He had time to throw, just didnt have a good idea of “open” today. Held the ball longer than he ever has. Tempo also was a NON FACTOR tonight

We shut them down in 2nd half after settling down.

Yep,,, he was afraid to pull the trigger as Georgia was allowed to play physical (holding often, some were called) and he never adjusted. On many plays he had plenty of time but would hold the ball. Would have loved to have seen more called QB runs. Many times the pocket would eventually break down and then he’d decide to take off which was too late.

He has to learn to give his receivers a chance. Especially 1v1 scenarios. It’s like he won’t turn the ball lose if someone doesn’t have a 5 yard advantage.

No he didn’t. Im too tired to argue but no Kirby didn’t take his foot off the gas until midway thro the 4th and by then our defense was kicking ass

You’re lying to yourself. Kirby ran the ball more knowing we couldn’t put up 3 scores the way we were playing. They were looking to keep the ball out of our hands. Tell yourself what you need to sleep better. That score isn’t a true indicator of how much better they were than us today.

And I'd also add that Stetson Bennett isn't usually as good as he played today.
I for one am glad Stetson Bennett is graduating. It's amazing how he sucks according to so many but somehow manages to be in the Top 10 in college QBR for multiple years. He played good against us all 3 years he played us.

Quit being a dick and watch the game again. They made a couple of of great plays in the first half and got a good bounce on the punt. If you think Kirby stopped trying to score in the 2nd half you are wrong

Not only his hesitation to throw but to take off and run as well

How cute with the name calling. Take your head out if the sand. Ga was a much better team today. And given their talent and years of 5 star recruiting that’s no surprise. I’m proud of our team this year, but we’ve got a bit to go to be on Georgia’s. It is what it is. You can’t change facts just bc you don’t like them. They were better is all phases of the game today.

You are the one who got “cute”. Of course they were better today. When did I say they weren’t? Its obviou your opinion is skewed by recruiting rankings. Sad. Watch the game again young man

He’s been completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. He just didn’t play well today, UGA brining pressure had a lot to do with that

There was no way we could stop them if they wanted to score more. Newsflash, we scored our td against their defensive 2nd stringers. Hooker was SACKED 6 times, lets not count the QB pressures. What game were some of you watching? Stop surgarcoating our complete lack of prepardness for this game. We got out talented and taken to the woodshed. I said a week ago that we weren't ready to handle greatness and we'd better be weary of wearing the crown. Well we fell flat on our faces! I still expect we'll win out and finish 11-1. I got no idea what happens in regards to the CFP but we better hope our offense shows up to play because we do not have the defense to play with the big boys.

Well it is hard to not judge games based on recruiting rankings when typically the team with higher recruiting rankings are winning.

Sure there are exceptions like Texas A&M but for the most part, the teams with the athletes compete the best.
