What if Auburn loses big...

If they lose we are looking at TCU Vs. Oregon in the BCSNC.

Its almost guaranteed to be that match-up I think everyone else has one loss. It is a limited and sometimes outright unfair system but better than what we had prior to the BCS. If we can't get a true playoff then a plus one or two after the BCS bowls and have a final four for the championship would be feasible and a better system than we have right now.

Looking at the BCS numbers, South Carolina would have to absolutely crush Auburn for TCU to even have a possibility of rising enough to make it to the NCG.

Would auburn being bumped to a lower bowl affect tennessee?

I wouldn't think so, if they lose then south carolina and auburn would go to bcs games and if they win then aub and arky would go, south carolina would still get a better game than us...so I don't see us moving up or down depending on who wins

It could affect us if they (or Arkansas) get knocked out of a BCS game.

Both would have to get knocked out. If it's either or then you're still looking at pretty much that same "2 sec teams in bcs bowls scenario"

I really can't see both 1 loss auburn falling below enough to miss a bid (arky supposedly has 1 at what the 10 spot with their 2 losses?)

I think it would... Say SEC gets one bid in the Sugar and that's it.

1. Sugar Bowl - South Carolina
2. Capital One Bowl - Auburn
3. Cotton Bowl - Arkansas
4. Outback Bowl - LSU
5. Chick-fil-A Bowl - Alabama
6. Gator Bowl - Florida
7. Music City Bowl - Miss St

That leaves us and Georgia for Liberty and BBVA Compass. Kentucky, who knows.

No way SC wins. They will be happy with their secE championship rings.

They won't, I firmly believe that if SC threatens to win this game something questionable will happen to kill their momentum.

Right. That's if both miss out though. My star was making note to my previous post that just usce and auburn rather than auburn and arky would still pretty much result in the same scenario. Some top change among the SEC bowls.

The only way though I can see the conference not getting 2 would be that somehow auburn would have to get beaten so badly that the end result would cause boise to jump above not only auburn's final spot but arkansas's as well.

I'm not sure how that would be possible though, especially in the very last week of games.
