Nobody is as jacked up about our effort last night as me, but lets tap the brakes just a little. The rest of the schedule is still daunting. And, UGA was missing alot of key offensive players for much of the game. If they had Marshall and their top two WRs that were hurt early in the game, it wouldm't have come down to OT imo. That said, the effort and never give up attitude are what I'm most pleased with.
Easy, we have to eliminate stupid mistakes, like jumping offsides, unsportmanlike conduct penalties, and fumbling on the 1 yard line.
I agree we had mistakes but we were still in the game and should have won. The one mistake that hurt was a player trying to make a play and as long as we give that kind of effort, i see good things happening for this team.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about how we played overall yesterday. It was a big step forward and I hope we keep moving in this direction.
But, you still have to play smart and not beat yourself and that's an area where I think we can improve. I don't want to beat up a kid trying to make a play, but at the same time, he needed to know that the most important thing in that situation was to hold on to the football.
