In the middle of a debate, they come back from a break and she's not at her podium and walks in late?

Newt is really taking to the Fox guys tonight..lol
Chris Wallace seemed to be on a mission earlier in the debate to start fights and catch candidates in contradictions. It was like he was hell bent on appearing adversarial.

debate is going weird.
These early debates before the wannabes drop out are always a complete circus. 2 hours is just way too long though. It's impossible for anybody to look strong in this format.

I agree with Frank Luntz. Gingrich was the winner. It was like the early 90's version of Newt.

liked ron paul
Paul had some good answers. He also had his patented moments where his voice got high, he talked too fast and looked like a crazy old dude. The moment where Chris Wallace asked him about getting his ideas through a divided Congress made him look weak.

Also, not a Bachman fan at all, but thought the question about being submissive to her husband was an unnecessary low blow.

Bachmann's problem is that she comes off as exactly what she is . . . an uncompromising, bomb throwing congressman. It's exactly what has held Gingrich back.

Well still after this weak but still early debate Paul is still my guy with Cain still in 2nd, but damn I like Newt tonight, he was good.

Newt is definitely the smartest guy in the room with that bunch

. . . and it's obvious. He's probably too damaged to gain traction, but wouldn't it be fun to watch if he could sneak into 3rd place coming out of South Carolina?

At this time, I'm looking forward to Newt and Rick Perry battling it out.

Santorum and Cain will probably drop out after Saturday.

That leaves Romney, Pawlenty, Bachmann, Newt, and Perry? I predict that Pawlenty drops next, followed by Bachmann. I think Newt has the ability to raise enough cash to hang with Romney and Perry, and after tonight I'll bet he gets a healthy cash infusion.

Thoughts?

You think they are going to drop out after a straw poll?
