What is wrong with Kentucky?

So are UK fans wanting to fire Cal? Cause if Barnes would have lost a game like this, some TN fans would be calling him the worst coach of all time.

2-1 yesterday

UK played bad and Vermont is really good. Why does the SEC look bad because of that?

Still is early. I knew UK was suspect but they had the weakest bracket of the 4 major SEC powers in basketball (i.e. the easiest path to Sweet 16 and Final Four). Now they are gone.

I just hope we can get by Michigan.

I have a feeling the Michigan game is going to be a war. They’re gonna play with a lot of pride. Need to hit them in the mouth early.

Our Achilles heel is our dry spots in shooting. That is the only thing that scares me about this team.
If we take care of the basketball I think we’ll be in good shape. The worst thing that happened with Michigan winning is that they gained confidence . That’s why I think they’ll come out and play well.

I think we are seeing the effect of the NIL money. Probably all of UK's players getting huge money. They don't have the fire.

Don't know if it's NIL money, but UK clearly looked like they thought they should just be "given" the win because they are Kentucky. Flashes of the talent, just didn't seem to have the desire or heart as a team.

After watching the Inside SEC of tournament Coverage I am not sure I would want to play for Cal.
I am sure he is a Good Coach but his ingame coaching Kind of Sux.
Lay there and take it.
Nothing Movitivating in his halftime speech to put fire in the Belly.

Ever notice how he talks to his players like they are dumb ?

You know, that logic is why we are a #3 seed and Texas A&M is sitting at home (or we have missed out on the bubble in the past).

Nope. That isn't the case at all, play a good OOC schedule and win you'll make the tourney regardless of the conference having a bad year.

I agree. Going back to our game in the SEC tournament, you had Zeigler, 5'9", out rebounding one of their bigs who was 6'9" in the closing minutes.

Its attitude and want to that makes tourney teams, and Kentucky didnt want it.

Cal has always been able to prepare and recruit. In game adjustments has been his worst trait his entire coaching career

Coach Cal has always been more of a recruiter than a top-notch coach. I think he's an OK coach, but he's never been elite. The big issue
with Kentucky is that the team is almost always young, because his best players are always leaving after a year, maybe two. When you seldom
have players who are both experienced and solid/good, it's not easy to win. All that said, Kentucky would have won yesterday had his team made their free throws in OT. I think the Cats were 1-6 in OT from the FT line. That's pathetic. A lot of today's young players are bad FT shooters.

And speaking of the SEC, Alabama is going to lose to a mediocre Notre Dame team. Hadn't even reached 60 points with under 2 minutes to go in the game.

Yeah, SEC looks like **** which is making me worried that we are really not that good.

Agree, he isn't the best of coaches. This was one of his oldest teams though and was supposed to be the year UK bucked the trend. With both Alabama and UK, the experts got sucked in by some big-game performances against a couple of elite teams instead of watching both programs over the course of the season. Alabama really wasn't that great but they got those nice wins against Baylor and Gonzaga so everyone just loved all over them. There are SEC schools left out of the tournament that were a lot better than Alabama (Florida and Texas A&M).
