I have been a Lady Vol fan since the 1970's when Curt Watson's sister Jackie was on the team. Have seen good and bad through that time, but have never seen anything like today. What an absolute fiasco. If the object of the game was to see how many times you could bounce the ball on the floor, our Ladies would be tops. But the object is to score more points than your opponent and there are no form points to be had. It's about putting the ball through the hoop. Defense is good, but you can't win 0-0. So if five players are on the floor, then all five should shoot the ball when open. Can't or won't shoot? Take a seat on the bench. And,as a matter of fact, these Ladies play very poor defense especially at the guard positions. The season has just gotten going and it's way past time to see improvement all over the court.

Our first problem is that Warlick is a disaster--doesn't know what she is doing. The second problem is that the rest of the staff is bad too. All good people--but I don't think there is a single decent coach in the bunch, and our play in recent years would prove the point. We've got a bunch of long-time mediocrities.

This team is totally offensively challenged. Other than Deshields and Russell no one can score. I think Reynolds, Cooper, and Carter shot ten air balls today.

This, we also play no defense at all. We have been leaving 3 point shooters open for at least a couple of years. I'm with everyone calling for Chw to be gone, but realistically they are not a lot of players on this team. But that is her fault, her and her sorry coaching staff.

the last step in a coaches tenure is when your players quit on you. we saw that today.

You don't know how correct you may be- these players know that they aren't getting the attention to detail and coaching that some of the now top programs are getting. How often did we hear Carolyn Peck talk about the Flex offense the VT was running. Whenever we hear commentators talk about our offense-it's what's wrong with it.

Did not see today's game--thankfully! Barely broke 40 points? What defense did Va. Tech play--man, zone, both? tks.

A collapsing zone. What else ? Everybody plays us the same way.
This goes further than Holly. Holly was at the helm last year when a supposedly not as talented team made it to the elite 8. There has to be something else going on with the players on this team to go from giving everything they had last year to almost giving up in the fourth q. today.

I agree completely but the reason no one can score is because there is no offensive scheme being ran. It is just pickup garbage ball. And, that is what we look like: pure garbage

Kaylan Pugh (Collierville, TN) has left the Ohio State team because she wants to play closer to home. Is she interested in playing for Holly?

Holly would have us believe that it is all about effort and desire..... being relentless..... playing with heart..... well this is some of it...... but main problem is with coaching and specifically coaching the fundamentals..... going a step further fundamentals on offense..... it is a terrible situation and sad excuse for a top flight program...... soon becoming a forgettable top flight program...... saw the UC - ND game yesterday..... players on both sides were intense and showed that they cared...... that is to Holly's point..... but also, they were wisely coached in x's and o's..... schemes on offense and defense both..... whole situation with Lady Vols is hard to watch

Had to quote this. Spot on. While effort, intensity and desire are important, you can't ignore coaching and scheme. I think Holly is severely limited in that regard and simply falls back on a lack of intensity and fire. It was a mistake to hire her to replace Pat from the get go.

How long will it be before some of the coaches with questionable ethics start trying to poach some players from this team? I'm sure the feelers are already out. Both Ohio State and Kentucky seem to get a lot of transfers from other schools. South Carolina too.

43 points? Did we not come out after halftime? Makes sense...last game CHW didn't participate in the 2nd half, so maybe the team today decided to do likewise.

That's how Pat coached. She wasn't great at the X's and O's but she could will her teams to win. Holly ain't Pat.
