Funny. On my first viewing of The Big Lebowski I didn't think it was anything special and felt disappointed. It started growing on me a week or two afterwards, and now it's one of my personal favorites.

Some of the best conversation ever in a movie between John Goodman and Jeff Bridges.

Godfather for me. I personally feel that the most compelling drama storyline is that of a good guy who's slowly warped to an evil individual (see Walter White). I think Michael definitely embodies that, even if it doesn't fully come out until the second movie.

It's really hard to choose just one movie, though. Shawshank, Once Upon a Time in America, 12 Angry Men, and Pulp Fiction with honorable mentions for me.

Forrest Gump. That's a movie I never get tired of. It has drama, comedy, romance, and thrills all in one film. Tom Hanks does an outstanding job taking you into the world of Forrest Gump.

Pulp Fiction - Perfect combination of fun, music, quirkiness, and hilarious dialogue.

Tombstone - Great characters, true to the old west theme, and the memorable Doc Holliday

The Usual Suspects - the BEST "a-ha" moment I've seen

Inception - takes more than one viewing to appreciate the levels in this one

Shawshank. Don't know why but I can watch it over and over

One of the best. I can agree with gladiator too. Forrest Gump is up there IMO as well. there's a lot more. Green mile, braveheart....Some movies you can just watch over & over & even if you own it & hardly watch it anymore when you find it on tv you can't change the channel b

Tombstone & pulp fiction. Didn't care much for inception.

The Shawshank Redemption.

Shawshank gets me in so many places; when Brooks hangs himself, when Red is talking about how he just misses his friend and hopes the ocean is as blue as his dreams, and when he finally meets up with Andy at the end.

^^^ I couldn't have said it any better.

Probably The Graduate. I think Mike Nichols is a wonderful director and has made some great films. Everything about it is great from start to finish. I love the scenes, the lines, the music, the themes, and I love how real it gets. It's definitely an anti-love story and it goes against the typical structure of a fairy tale romance. But I think I love that the most because love is hard and it isn't always perfect. Maybe an extreme example to use this film but I think it speaks to many people in different ways.

Tie between Forrest Gump and The Cowboys.

Tom Hanks provides life lessons and so does John Wayne.

Excellent choice. The ending when Captain Miller, dying, tells Private Ryan to "Earn this. Earn it" gets me everytime.

My dad works with Veterans and he said some of his veterans went to see the movie and said they had to get up and leave because they were having flash backs because the movie was so real.

I like a lot of things about Saving Private Ryan but one of my favorite things is the dymanic of the group as they go through the movie and all the things that happen to them. I thought the actors did a great job with that.

Evil Dead 1&2 and Army of Darkness. If I must pick 1, it's Evil Dead 2. I tell everyone we can't be friends till they watch them. I've watched them at least 50 times. And I've seen Evil Dead the musical 4 times. It's a mild obsession.
