IF, and only if government is going to be bigger than it really needs to be. More power should be shifted toward the states.

Bias?

When you go to the voting booth do you vote for more gov't or less.

Fairly simple!

As for gov't workers I couldn't agree more DrOski. Thankfully we are cutting waste out of department as we speak. Too bad it comes 20 years after the fact.

Seems pretty straight forward to me. Government certainly has encroached on our rights over recent years hasn't it?

I rather doubt you're going to get anyone to choose "Can't get enough!" because virtually nobody believes there can never be enough government.

I can count over 30 people that post on this board that believes gov't should expand.

TennNC would be the president of this club.

You'd be surprised, a good number of those who voted Obama did so for just this reason.

So ya'll believe a good number of folks who voted for Obama want as much government as they can possibly get? In other words, they believe there can never be too much government?

Basically, yes!

He has not taken steps towards "downsizing", or even staying the same.

He is living up to his word.

I am sure some did, but I think a good number of them voted for him because he was well spoken and really did not pay attention to what he stands for and what he has done. I would say most that voted for him had no idea about his radical past and radical voting record.

The Government should be used for national defense, a backup for state governments and protecting our interest abroad.

beyond that we have too much.

The short answer is yes, I believe a good number of people out there want to be taken care of from cradle to the grave by the government.

It can be debated just how many a good number of people are, for the record I think just as many voted for him because he was unknown and a good public speaker as those who voted for him because they want to be taken care of. This just goes to show how shallow a significant portion of the American public is.

There are many reasons people voted for Obama, the biggest portion of people voted for him because they actually believed he would follow through with his many promises and pledges.
