What is your Vol Streak?

I have a t-shirt that I have carried - not worn - to every game since '85. Pic of Smokey on front, V O L S on the back. When we could walk the RR tracks, I dropped it once and went back on Sunday morning to find it.

Missed only one home game since '85 - the day my son had a PeeWee championship game. Why they scheduled the PeeWee game on a Saturday TN home date I don't know.

Off topic - I have had at least one sip of Coca-Cola every day since I was in Jr High around 1972.

I edited this and it posted twice. Sorry.

Not a big deal here compared to others, but I have been a constant UT fan since October 1967. I’m proud of it and my university.
My dad was a huge Volunteer fan, every Saturday during the season, he would get my transistor radio and tune in to the broadcast. I started listening as well, Doug Dickey was the coach, so I guess my fanhood began in 1964. I was 11 years old back then.

I first watch them live in the 1989 Vanderbilt game where we won the SEC title share that day. I have never attended a game since then that we have lost. My streak we are undefeated.

I went with pneumonia and sat in rain and watched Utah State at Neyland. My wife was pissed off majorly because I had went to the doctor on the day before the game and found out I had it and didn’t tell her. Told her I had a cold. My sister told her on Sunday after the game. I am a VFL and possibly a dumb ass. But I don’t miss games.

I have either been at or watch every Vol game since 91 except for the final Pruitt years. I just got wore out with it all and felt it was better for my sanity to not be as engaged.

I haven't showered since we beat Bama, my coworkers and close family have all became huge Bama fans recently. It's really weird...

Hats off to you!! I suspect you have quite a few stories of overcoming circumstances to attend games. It’s was sometimes tough to continue my home attendance streak, let alone all games. I missed a family wedding in 1990 and I still hear about it. My home streak was broken when my wife had a bad case of hives with continuous itching during the pregnancy of our second child in 1991. She couldn’t take any medication due to her pregnancy. Before that happened, I had a baby sitter ready in Knoxville for my 15-month old; I remember changing diapers in the back seat to and from games. I had been taking her with me to games from south of Chicago to try to offset the fact that I was leaving my pregnant wife to go to a game. Still wasn’t acceptable but I weathered the storm. We’ve been married for almost 38 years. Then there was the planning of our wedding and honeymoon during the Sugar Vols season so as not to miss a home game. I, too, am a VFL and no doubt a dumb ass.

I haven’t missed a game since 2021.

I hadn’t missed a game from 2002-2017 before that (born 1996).

I think the Kentucky game in 2017 made me stop watching that season, at least as appointment TV. And I never fully came back until Heupel gave me glimmers of hope vs Pitt in ‘21 even in a loss.

2 years now that I haven't had to have a bottle of liquor per game just to get through coaching incompetence.
Now it's for enjoyment!

I haven’t missed a Tennessee football game since 1989. I started watching them in 1986. But since 1989 I haven’t missed a single Tennessee football game. Don’t die when Tennessee plays cause I won’t be at the funeral.

You've attended every single game?
Every home game?
You've watched or listened to every game?

I'm in the 3rd tier since 1980 I guess. I listen or watch every football game and most basketball games. I had a walkman in my ear while I deer hunted plenty of falls before tv games and smartphones.

I’ve missed 2 home games in the last 13 years, once cause I had to work, the second because I tested positive for Covid…
I’ve started trying to go to more road games.
Got Norman several years ago
Swamp this year
Been to every bowl game since Taxslayer vs Iowa

I have video of every game since 1980. Some video is coaches shows or coaches tape of games but some video of every game. Vast majority are the entire games. probably over 90% entire game.

Just lacking 3 games from 1979 season for having that entire season.

Are you Larry Smith on youtube?

If so, been watching games you've uploaded for years now. Just watched the 2001 Tennessee/South Carolina game a couple days ago on there. Really appreciate you taking the time to upload all of that quality content if it is you.

I haven't missed watching a televised Vol game, unless I was there, since 1985. I have shut a few off in disgust though I will admit.

My wife has these checkered overalls she wears to most games in Neyland. We have never lost when she wears them to a game. I think we recently figured out she's 10-0 in them, including 2016 Florida, 2015 Georgia, and 2013 South Carolina.

1 game streak against Florida. And man I’ve been to some tough losses to earn that one. The Treon Harris game in Neyland, Tebows freshman year in Neyland, was in Gainesville when Driskell broke his leg and they still beat us.
