Which legendary Bball Coach would you take to win just one game - the Natty?

Knight for me. Donovan had issues with Cuonzo Martin, no way I'm trusting him to win a title against a K- or Pitino-coached team.

If we are talking about coaching one game today, with today's players, there is no way I take Knight. Players today would not play for him.

I'm a bit surprised concerning the love for Wooden, mostly because we never really got to see him struggle in a one game scenario.

Dude had more bought talent than Kentucky, and in an era when all you had to do was win 4 games, often against teams that weren't really even that good simply because they lucked out and won their conference tourney.

The flip side to that argument would be if you lose the conference tourney you are out. So in those days if Kentucky lost today season over.

This is true, but something tells me there wasn't a whole lot of losing the conference tourney for either UCLA in the Pac or Kentucky in the SEC back in the day. The Johnson County Senior Center Basketball All-Stars probably would have made a better opponent than the majority of their fellow conference members.

Wooden may have bought players, but he forced those players to do things HIS way or not at all (See: their haircuts, the way they put their socks on, etc.). In a one game, same exact roster, winner take all championship, I'd take either Wooden or Tom Izzo. Izzo always makes noise in March.

He had all the leverage though. None of them were going to transfer out because they were getting paid, and anyone could get benched because there were 5 more high school All-Americans behind them. He could do whatever he wanted to them.
