RP will pay for itself if you run it the full 12,000-15,000 miles, I would think.

I'm not running it past 5,500. Neither are you. I've also heard less than estatic reviews on RP from other mazdaspeed owners.


I have heard great things about rotella t6 though. May consider that for my next change.

The two times I used it, I ran it for about 10,000. Hell even Mobil 1 I'll run past 5,000 on occasion. My car doesn't even tell me to change it until around 6,000.

Past 5,500 I start to get concerned about the filter. I might be completely unfounded though. I waste enough money on other stuff that I am going to try and eek out a bit of savings from my oil changes. Also, my car tends to consume oil, so the cheaper it is to top off the better.

So Walmart is still the cheapest place to buy Mobil 1 5qt. I was at Advance Auto the other day and specifically checked they price of Mobil 1 5qt and they wanted $38 for it.

I'm not sure why anyone would try and buy this extended life oil. I like my Mobil 1 don't get me wrong, but their extended life oil claims up to 15k. You can forget me ever trying to go 15k on one oil change, that's crazy.

All the reviews and UOA's I have seen have been nothing but stellar. Especially for applications like mine.

I think I will give it a go.


I also posted the wrong stuff earlier, Rotella T6 is the oil I meant to post.

Yeah, everything I have read that it is great for high compression turbo, or diesel motors. You may want to poke around your car's respective forum just so see if anyone has used it but the Subaru and Mazdaspeed guys and gals love it.
