What other message boards are saying: South Carolina edition

I can guarantee you that only the most delusional of Gamecock fans are viewing the UT game as a "tune-up" game. They certainly did not expect USC to put up 52 pts on Arkansas, and if USC played Arky 9 more times this season they wouldn't expect it in any of them except perhaps the last game and that would only be because in the previous 9 games USC averaged 52+ ppg against them...

But Gamecocks fans are excited about their team's offense, while UT's own defense has struggled. Meanwhile, while USC's defense has struggled it hasn't struggled as much as UT's has, and their effort versus Arkansas last week has given some hope. And UT's own offense has not played as well as USC's offense has...

So they are just adding it all up on paper. That often-times means very little ultimately....

Really your saying their D effort for one game makes their D so much better but at the same time refuse to acknowledge UTs O performance in its last game against a D that is VERY comparable to USCe D.

I get it that your a mod over there and this is as good as your team will ever get, but this is a UT board, we've actually won something that matters and done it more than once. So just go back to your north korean board and pretend that the world of college football respects your team so we don't have to deal with you trying to cover your shortcomings in the groin region.

Spending time on another board isn't my thing but if I were to go else where I don't think someone that loves the cocks would goat me into a fight.

I have to say, Bama to me is THE game every year. But living in Charleston, this week makes me giddy. Yes, giddy. Listen to good ol' Bobby on the radio today, I promise you this is USCjr tune up game in their mind. "hand the ball off and don't turn it over and we win by 21 -28 eeeeasy there Bobby. We just too much for them Vols."

It's absolutely fantastic to take in on game week. When we pull the "upset", Rocky Top shall ring from the Holy City.

They make me laugh!!!! They're almost as funny as Ohio State fans. "Govols/cc" is right when he said they believe they've been on the verge of a National Title for 20 years.

If South Carolina ever wins the National Title it'll be done on a video game.

I'm saying that yes, fans will make subjective opinions based on as flimsy an amount of data as that. Crazy, isn't it? It's a bit like fans here saying that UT's passing offense has improved in their most recent games, and ignoring the factor of South Alabama and UGA - UT's two most recent opponents - having the worst passing defenses of all UT's FBS opponents thus far....

UT's last opponent was UGA:

Scoring D rank:
UGA: 105th
USC: 39th

Run D Rank:
UGA: 37th
USC: 43rd

Pass D Rank:
UGA: 97th
USC: 29th

Total D Rank:
UGA: 65th
USC: 24th

I wouldn't call those numbers "VERY" comparable...beyond the rushing D I wouldn't call them comparable at all. USC's rankings are actually solid while UGA's are mediocre to pretty poor...

And yet UGA with all those "mediocre to pretty poor rankings" beat USCjr. . .

Gee I wonder if those "rankings" have anything to do with the fact that UGA has played against the likes of LSU, clemson, and Mizz while your mighty USCjr D has faced the O powerhouses of UNC, Vandy, UK, and Ark. Maybe you should do a little more digging before you go spouting off stats. Its much easier to have a better ranked D when you haven't had to face any respected offenses.

SO.................... please try again later when you actually know what your talking about.

This

Carolina opponents have like 20 losses combined already. 21 if UCF loses tonight. Georgias opponents have like 8. 6 of those 8 were N. Texas & Tennessee.

Its sad that Clowney is washing the season. What a waste.

I don't think that was his intentions! Teams have found ways to keep him from being a factor! He knows it and I think he has lost his drive, hell he was on heisman watch and now he just another DE in the SEC!

Nobody ever said he had a great passing game! But it has improved! Worley and his receivers are beginning to be on the same page! Who cares about who we play and how bad there pass d is! When the received runs the "right route" and the qb throws "on target" there's an improvement!

Yep, there were open receivers in every game this season that Worley didn't give a chance with the ball. He was on target against UGA. There was very real improvement. The first couple games teams could have played with 10 on defense and Worley still wouldn't have been able to hit the open receivers.

Beat me to it JFBanicki. South Carolina is a good team, but their stats are misleading at this point. Let's hope those averages take a hit tomorrow.
