What other message boards are saying (UCONN Edition)

I do one for every game if the opposing team has a message board and has material. Everyone seems to enjoy it, don’t be a stick in the mud lol.

In a sea of JM3 and Nico threads, your opposing team message board threads are always appreciated. Keep it up.

I enjoy them too! I suspect sami can't be happy unless sami is unhappy.

Damn, you guys don't overreact much, do you? Check my posts and see how 'unhappy' I've ever been on here.

All I meant was that it's almost like kicking a small dog to be piling on a UConn, I wasn't trying to be negative at all. Please carry on.

Hey, your response to my comment got you a boatload of likes, so it was worth it, I guess.

It was not in any way meant to be negative or take a shot. I love these threads during rivalry weeks.

When I think about how we could take a game for granted in the second half at Alabama, I get a little concerned. If we're not playing our back-ups by the second half, we've got problems.

If you've ever spent any time on the Boneyard (don't), you wouldn't have any soft fuzzy feelings about those folks.

They've had more success in basketball than they deserve (both Rip Hamilton and Kemba Walker getting unlikely titles), they can take their lumps in football. It's not like they don't know how to run a successful program, they just don't in this sport.

What's the point of this kind of thread for a game like this? This is a payday for UConn, and that's where it begins and ends.
Big payday and I don’t understand it. All we are doing is funding their basketball program which is too 10 program!

This kind of game and it's timing serves 2 really important purposes. First, if things go as planned, we can rest a lot of our starters before we head to Mizzou. Lots of healing needs to take place especially the OL. A game like this, while not an open date, is coming at a great time. Rest and get healthy. Biggest plus to a game like this....if the staff will take advantage of it...is that you get to play a lot of youngsters and get them valuable reps. We've missed out on several opportunities early in the year. This staff should consider inserting the youngsters in with the starters instead of waiting for some huge lead and wholesale subs. Easier to do and makes more sense to me. UConn has a purpose. It's a needed week.

No argument, I get all that. I wasn't commenting on the purpose of the game itself.

Oh Jim Mora Jr. He was the first domino that fell. The next thing you know, we get Derek Dooley. Mora gets canned in Seattle. Pete Carroll leaves USC to go to Seattle. USC poaches Lame Kitten. Then we get Dooley, Botch and Cornbread. Eleven years wandering in the wilderness. I hope we hang eighty points on them!
No argument but I think Carroll was highly motivated to get out of Dodge(rtown) ahead of the NCAA rail. He pushed his credit card limit to the max. I think Mike Riley turning down USC to remain at Oregon State sealed Lane Kiffin’s hire.

"I’ve heard Knoxville is beautiful this time of year and the Tennessee fans are a class act."

Boy is he in for a rude awakening.

Friendly, maybe. Let’s not forget Knox County elected a not so baby face wrestler as mayor.

Yeah...but this isn't bball. This is Tennessee football vs lmfao...UConn Football.

When it comes to basketball? Seriously. There is still no argument. Pat Summit did not just make Tennessee Basketball. Pat Summit made Womens College Basketball! Pat Summit made Geno!

ANYONE got an argument against that?

Didn't think so.

I really, REALLY wanted Derek Dooley to do well. He went to the tailor three different times to get the shade of orange on those britches just right. His heart was in the right place.

Me as well. I mean, the mistakes were all on the admin. Rushing to hire a HC after Lane left rather than just letting Thompson be the interim until they could hire a real coach. Not firing Dooley after the Mizzou game when he had clearly given up by not attempting a drive on the 50 yard line and just going to overtime. This led to the players revolting and costing us an embarrassing defeat at Vandy the following week.

I'm still convinced that Hamilton was a rival plant.

Why would they send a bunch of donors to the Tennessee game? 🤣
Doner trips are more of a social event for the doners. Tennessee is a beautiful state and has a significantly different topographical and cultural landscape from their frigid existence.

Mine wasn't personal. I'm just an ass.

But at least I own it. 🤷‍♂️

11 years is far better than wandering for 40 years in the wilderness......
