What other message boards are saying (UGA Edition)

This is the one week where it would be wise to follow Teddy Roosevelt's advice to "Walk softly, and carry a big stick."

Let them think what they want. They want to act like morons, let them. Our team will drown it out and then whatever happens on Saturday will happen. For the first time in years, I don't need to talk smack back to them. I'm confident in our team. Are we as talented as they are? No but you couldn't tell by watching us. You have a coach who recruits 5* QBs who are on the bench because they can't beat out a freaking walk on at QB. Stetson is pretty good, but it says more about your development of talent that he is still your starting QB. Our staff went to the automobile graveyard, took some pieces from an old buick, an old camaro, a worn out corvette, a wrecked jalopy, and have rebuilt these spare parts into a finely tuned machine.

Keep barking, leghumpers. I'm just going to sit back and watch what happens. If we do it this year, awesome. If not, I'm not going to worry too much over it because quite frankly, it's going to happen. We weren't expecting it so soon, but that sound you hear in the distance... those far away notes... you know what it is... It's Rocky Top, and it can't be stopped. It's only a matter of time.

"We will skull drag Tennessee, we’re the only elite team in the country."

Not that I needed a reminder of why I despise the mutt fanbase, but look, there it is.. Smug, arrogant f**ks..

Dear God,

Please allow us to EMBARASS them in their house..

Amen 🙏
Yeah they sure looked elite in those close games against Kent St and Missouri.

My goodness.

All season long.

Just proving human nature sucks at learning from the experience of others.

Everyone's gotta touch the glowing red stove top themselves.

Florida said it...then LSU said it...then Bama said it...and at that point, you'd think the message would finally have been shared. But nope...Kentucky said it...and now Georgia is saying it.

I swear, it's like watching a squad of soldiers walk into a minefield, one at a time. First one...boom...second one, 'well he was an idiot' while walking in...boom...third one saying 'he didn't know what he was doing' as he goes in...boom...over and over.

Okay, best most elitest team in the country, your turn.

I'm not telling you we're gonna whup your asses, but I am telling you this is going to be a game like you haven't experienced yet in 2022. We're gonna be on pins and needles, and YOU are gonna be on pins and needles.

Utterly incapable of learning by observation. Amazes me.

Go Vols!

p.s. And watch, South Carolina's gonna be saying the same thing two weeks further down the road lol.
GREAT post. This might be the favorite that i've ever seen from you! SPOT ON.

Every fan base has its’ delusional / trash-mouth/ trashy / arrogant crowd. Yes, even UT. How quickly we forget our “40 years of wandering in the desert”, and fail to fully appreciate the phenomenal turnaround this staff and this team have made in such a short time.

Victory. Relevance. Excitement. Pride. It’s like a drug, and we’re all stoned on it. And man, can I get samorrathat? High Times, indeed.

UT Football is back. Big time. No matter what happens in Athens, or beyond, UT Football is back. No matter what any fan of any other team, or any sportswriter may say, write, or post…UT Football is back.

So let ‘em flap their gums. Hell, 90% of them couldn’t tackle you if you were running backwards. If spewing hot air on a fan blog is your major talent, well…bless your heart.

As for me, I’m just gonna enjoy the ride.

Go Vols.

They forget LY. If we had some depth on D we found have won LY.

It’s like Mike says. Everyone has a plan until punched in the mouth

Our coaching staff has proved they can our coach/scheme the other team all year. It will be tough like BAMA but we pull it off

There's a reason I hate Georgia more than Bama. I lived in Atlanta for 12 years and Georgia fans are the most obnoxious in the country. Far worse than any other SEC team, including Bama.

I've lived in Atlanta for 32 years, so I can confirm. And it's a douchey brand of obnoxious that masks impostor syndrome.

I went to a beer fest in Hiawassee, Georgia last weekend, wearing Tennessee gear, one man working with a civic group selling Brunswick Stew was wearing a Georgia hat. He saw the orange and said, unsolicited, "We are gonna beat your ass in two weeks."

I smiled. "That's what Alabama said too," I responded. He started stammering. GBO

Sherman should have made it an annual event. Returned to burn that dump to the ground on every anniversary. When he passed, his heirs or trusted men should have continued the tradition until the whole of Georgia was just a sooty spot on the map, uninhabited by all less men who bark.

To hell with Georgia.

To quote Mr. Flair “To be the man, you have to beat the man.” At this time, Georgia is the man and it is our time to put up or shut up. I can’t begin to make a prediction, but we have as good of a chance as anyone to beat them and we will have to smash them in the mouth with a couple of quick scores to start the game off. If any team is capable of that it is this one.

This is the game that will be the difference in us controlling our future for the playoffs or depending on the Western division to do it for us.

I said this in another thread. They have played nobody (Oregon week 1 is not the same Oregon team they are now) and they have the easiest SEC schedule I have ever seen. The teams they played this year: Oregon, Samford, USC jr., Kent state, Missouri, Auburn, Vanda, Florida. They have us, Mississippi state, Kentucky, and GT left. It's a cakewalk schedule. They are in for a rude awakening this week in a team that is truly battle tested.

Some of those comments are pretty delusional. UT beat Bama but the Vols are the ones who haven't done anything?
-This game is impossible to predict. Need to start STRONG and FAST, otherwise UT could put up 50+ on us. Can see it being very close, and I can also see this being a blowout on either side. Tough one
This is the correct take for fans on both sides.

UGA is a very, very unique offense. UK is sort of good prep for them since they also throw to the TE. But no one depends on TE's to the degree UGA does. No one has the quality of TE's UGA has. UGA's two leading receivers in terms of yds/rec are TE's. Their leading WR is pretty much a possession type guy. So just when we start to feel a little better about UT's pass defense... they face something completely different.

The good news there is that Banks is very good in coverage for a LB and Mitchell looked decent too. Also UT's two best CB's... may be natural safeties. UT has the ability to go "big" on the back end so UGA's make up might actually give UT a slight advantage.

To continue the weirdness of their O, their leading RB averages 55 ypg. Their leading rusher, Edwards, is 17th in the SEC. Not having a feature RB just seems strange for UGA.

Other than pass yardage... you find both of these teams pretty consistently in the top 4 of the SEC. One glaring exception for UGA is that they're last in the SEC in sacks. Pretty shocking. UGA is 7th in turnover margin. UT is 1st and is now tied for first in the SEC with 9 INTs.

We know UT's O is unique and has recently ripped formerly top ranked SEC D's. UGA will be the best of them. Something has to break. They've allowed the least plays of 30 yds or more- 10. UT has produced the most plays of 30 yds+- 36.

The match ups in this game can go any way as this guy says. There aren't many, if any, points of reference to make a good comparison
