Pig Howard. I really didn't think much of his play even up to the first couple games this year. Quitting on routes, drops...I thought he may be careless and never step up. He has surprised me the last couple games.

I would have said Sutton, but I saw his HS video. He dominated.

If a poll was taken immediately after the South Alabama game, I don't think any of us would've predicted Worley connecting with North on such a clutch play to set up a win like he did Saturday. Color me surprised!!!

Absolutely Sutton. In no way did I expect a true frosh to make a difference at corner.

Sapp has made a very nice improvement, also.

Butch Jones (I know, he's not a player). I had positive expectations from the get go, but; not this soon with these kids who have been jerked around and handed crap most of their time here.

we talking just Vols or NFL too?

watching this Giants game and seeing eli be horrible got me thinking: what if ELI was the older brother and he came to knoxville instead of peyton - how different would things be

We woulda had Eli over Clausen. No thanks.

I'm going Palardy as well. He has turned it around on place kicking but he is now an elite punter.

I'm going to agree with a lot of posters here, I voted Sutton, kid is being a huge boost to a secondary that has been missing a play maker for years, but I think Palardy should be on the list also and is right there with Sutton if not more of a surprise given his past seasons with us.

I'm gonna throw DeVaun Swafford into the mix as well. He's not playing at Cam Sutton level and he's had a few breaks come his way, but for a kid I never expected to see the field, to a couple of big time SEC TD's on defense and special teams he's capitalized on the breaks that came his way and really surprised me.

I'm surprised Worley didn't throw any bad interceptions the past two games.

His bad passes have been ones no one could catch.

Eli dominated at Ole Miss. And he has 2 rings. He may not be playing great right now but I'm not gonna be that tough on him. He will bounce back.

As for as the op's question...Palardy and its not close. This guy was a complete nightmare his first couple of years on campus. Now he's wining us games my field goals and awesome punts. I'm not sure I've seen a kicker with as much swag and confidence.

Parlardy is not listed. Dooley had us thinking he was worthless.

Sutton

However, I am VERY impressed and excited about several players

Sapp, Palardy, Vereen, North, Howard, Worley, Neal, Miller, Hood, etc.

Cam Sutton didn't surprise me at all. I watched him play in HS. I told you guys when he committed he was going to be great. He will be an all-American. What does surprise me is Worley. He is starting to live up to his potential. Go vols.:dance2:

Not voting without Michael Palardy on this list. Player of the year in my opinion. It's not just that he's a good kicker, it's that he's great at punting, kickoff, and field goals. That's rare at ANY level....and who would have guessed he'd develop like this after Dooley's tenure. Michael Palardy should be Vol of the year....he's a weapon!
