I wish CSS would go ahead and start their weekly re-airs on Monday nights. Heck a re-run is better than nothing.

Junior tailback Gerald Riggs Jr., who's had his own problems adjusting at Tennessee, said nobody on the team wanted to see Banks gone.

''It's not that James is a bad person,'' Riggs said. ''It's just that he's got to realize that there's some decisions you can't make.

Ironically, the story I got out of the Athletic Department was that, Banks wasn't originally suspended because he had an "Onterrio" problem, but merely because he had a "Riggs" problem (missing curfews, being late, and in general-but-petty ways actung like he didn't have to snap-to as quick because he was one of the big-talents). IOW, while he isn't nearly as big an ego-maniac as Kelly Washington, he also wasn't putting in even more work than talk like Washington.

Originally I thought Banks had to be pretty stupid, dangerous and well-gone. But the more I hear about both the recent comedy-fest and about why he was orginally disciplined, the more I think we've been unfairly assuming the worst. More and more, from what I've heard, I don't think the coaches are coddling Banks despite his infractions, but bearing down hard on him because he's actually too good a kid to be acting like an idiot- they want to nip it in the bud before one of his dumbass episodes results in something that truly screws up his life.

I can respect that. But given the recent history of discipline problems, what's a Vol fan to think? I knew that his first suspension was over academics, but the incident that put him on suspension from Spring practice was not. And then to go and do something to jeopardize your status, just makes you scratch your head.

The real issue is not so much Banks, as it is Fulmer's seemingly lack of control.

UT has A lot of problems that are not in the media and Banks problem is more than what any of you think. It is not he thinks he is better than anyone else he has personal problems that can't be brought to light that effects others and not just his team. He needs to go home and think and reslove his issuses and than come back. He is not going to play for the month of Sept. so he should leave now and come back when school starts and not worry about fall pratice until it is Sept.
WHAT ABOUT SWAIN, HANNON, BROWN, AND MECHEAN(?). THESE GUYS ARE GOOD AND IF FULMER believes they can do it then so should we. :D

If Banks goes home he won't be welcomed back. He must be here and go thru fall practice with no screw ups and no bad attitude according to what I was told.

So just what is this "personal problem"? It must not be TOO personal if others know about it.
