What team was playing against ASU?

Just keep winning and you will get your wish of playing UCONN.

In my opinion a Tennessee Uconn nc would be more compelling than a Uconn ND or Uconn south carolina nc game. Although you guys are going to have your hands full with a potential Baylor semi final matchup..

they never figgered out that Dunbar wasn't on the court so they played man defense?

When Dunbar came in the 2nd quarter, I was pretty quickly screaming for Holly to get someone else on the court. During that stretch, the LVs were playing 4 on 5 basketball.

And Holly rightly made the switch after about 3-4 minutes of flirting with the brink.

Right now Dunbar's game is standing around 30 feet from the rim and hoping that the other team decides not to guard her. Going forward, she has got to work harder on getting open (i.e. movement off the ball) and find other ways to contribute. It is one thing to be a 3-pt. specialist but she needs to have some other facets of the game, like defending or rebounding.

How do you know they weren't playing for Holly?

++++++++++++

because of the relaxed way they played.
they didn't freak out... the only other time i saw this out of this team, was when she pulled her sit-down act and let them play... that is the only other time i have seen them fully relaxed. The more she coaches, the less relaxed they play... Watch for this and you will see.

The job of any coach is to prepare them for a game...If a coach has to "coach" during a game, it is for one of two reasons... 1) Because the other coach did their job too and it is a coaching-chess-match, or, 2) because you didn't do yours........As a coach, If you have to do more than "manage" a game", , , there is a reason!.

If this is what you think, you didn't watch the game. Holly didn't coach? Players weren't playing for her also? Didn't sound that way in the presser. You're really reaching now to bash someone. Players don't play tight because of coaching most of the time. It comes from a lack of confidence.

Perfect example of the clueless on this board. good for a laugh though.

I was attempting levity, so I'm glad I succeeded in amusing you. The reality is I know (and care) little about basketball other than cheering when Tennessee has more points.

At any other program, Dunbar wouldn't even be on the floor. She would be riding the pine for all the other top 10 teams.

Some of us have gotten to the point to as where we think every player we recruit is elite and highly skilled, and should play, when most of the time by their play, it don't make any sense, not all of our players are good, oh but they are only duds under Holly. wuteva?

Kourtney was not an McD AA though she was nominated for this recognition.

Across the ranking services, she was rated as 65th to 74th top recruiting prospect in the nation. At this point, that assessment looks to be too high of an evaluation. But she has two years to work on redressing her deficiencies and becoming a more consistent contributor.

Would I like to see the Vols get to the NC game? Of course, but we'd have no chance against UConn. We don't have enough offense to compete with them. The Vols and huskies might be close to equal defensively, or maybe edge to them, but they are a much better offensive team. ND can score and would surely give uconn a better game than we would. We've got one scorer in DeShields, and she is not dependable and has had many poor shooting games. And after her we have a few players who are capable of scoring some but not many points. I could see us slowing down uconn some with our defense--but then their defense would do the same to us. They'd beat us by 20 and probably more. They are a ferrari and we are a toyota--and we've only just got to toyota level. Most of the year we've been a chevy. We're not good enough to hang with them, sadly.

Aren't we lucky to have grand master Coach Jumper here now so we are no longer wandering in the wilderness?

How did we ever find our way before?

Hey gall... InLadyvol1908's *In my Pat4Life voice*......wuteva!

Some people here aren't as brilliant and omniscient as you are gule... they actually appreciate some input from a coach's perspective, rather than a cynical old fart's rhetoric.

Just getting to the championship game would be a major accomplishment for this LVs team. Nobody is likely to beat UConn this year with Stewart, Jefferson and Tuck determined to go out on top.

UConn and SCAR have exceptionally talented senior leaders. When the seniors are gone, these teams will be more vulnerable. The LVs could-- and should-- be championship caliber next year, with better player development, conditioning and coaching. Assistant upgrades and a fresh perspective would be a big boost.

The LVs must defeat SC and ND to play UCONN. This is assuming that SC and ND win their games. The LVs will defeat UCONN if this happens!

Only have to defeat SC to play uconn. Assuming UT beats OSU and a SC victory in Sweet 16.

Defeat OSU
Defeat SC
Defeat uconn
Defeat ??(Baylor or ND) For national championship

Hard row to hoe.

Go Lady Vols!!!

Wow! I thought SC was the number 2 number 1 seed because they had one more top 25 victory than ND (everything else being equal in placement categories). I always thought #1 played #4 and #2 played #3. Theoretically "saving" the 1 and 2 match up for the championship.

Were they not the number 2 number one seed, or did the committee do a job on SC so ND had an easier road to the Championship game?

Thanks for the correction.

Edit:

Would someone tell me who plays whom in the Final Four? The #1 #1 should play the #4 #1, assuming all the number ones play out with wins. But LadyVol1908 says Uconn will play SC in the semifinals. That is the #1 #1 overall playing the #2 #1. That makes no sense, but when I googled a bracket, that was the way it looked to me too.

Then I found the below:

1)
Bleacher Report: "Prediction: Connecticut beats South Carolina for a record fourth straight national championship."

2)
