Do we find out about the Regional? Will we be able to by individual tickets or just the package deal (which are $30-$50 per person)?

I thought they announced today where the regionals were going to be.

Welcome Freak!

By the way, last weekend in Knoxville I ate a hotdog in your honor when I was at Lindsey Nelson. And yesterday I had one in the hospitality suite at the Hoover Met. That one was cooked on a real barbeque pit and was black in places. AWESOME! Aren't you envious???? :laugh1:

Sat/Sun vs Georgia. And my seat was right next to the famous Mr. Jim Tant who has not missed a single sporting event since 1960 in ANY sport! He is so cool. He's the guy that sits in front of the wall behind home plate and yells stuff like "KNOCK IT IN THE RIVER!" and "JULIO MY HERO!" and so on. REALLY nice guy. I went to his place in Gatlinburg on Monday for lunch and he took me for a drive/tour through the park. It was so nice! I'm SOOOO lucky sometimes! Who would have thought I'd meet a famous UT fan who was so hospitable? I had a very nice trip.

Too bad about yesterday. Coach looked really disappointed. I was hoping UT would go all the way to the final game today. Especially since they eliminated my fav team in the west, LSU!

GEAUX VOLS!

Sounds like you had a great time!!

A tournament chamionship would have been nice but it could have been tough on our pitching staff to play twice yesterday and then again today. The extra rest will be good for us getting ready for the regionals.

Oh ye of little faith.... NO! I don't want to bet! UT will Host a Regional! We will know in 45 minutes!

not so much little faith so much as the lack of respect for the university. it would not surprise me a bit if they decided that we were not worthy.

Now, I wonder if a person can get individual game tickets and how will that work. I know the last time I went I didn't have to buy the whole package.

Now that I think about it, I bet if you want box or bleacher seats you have to buy the package, otherwise you can buy general admission the day of the game.

I think that you are correct! I'm trying to decide if I'm coming up there again for the VOLS Regional.

I broke down and bought box seats for the Tourney. It really stinks that you have to buy tickets for the whole weekend but I didn't want to have a general admission seat and have to fight for a good spot.

You won't be sorry! Now you don't have to worry about someone taking your seat when you go buy a HOT DOG or to the men's room or if you want to chat with a friend or anything. And you can arrive 15 minutes before the game and know that you have a nice comfy seat with a chair back to enjoy the games. Besides, you never know who you will be paired with. Two years ago Tulane was at the LSU Regional and they played against UNCW. We all stayed for the Tulane - UNCW game and had about 5000 fans chearing against Tulane! They HATED it and have not forgiven us. You may have the same thing and be glad that you have the extra game tickets!

The Monday game is only if "necessary" due to the elimination process. WEll, great! Folks over on The DUGOUT were wondering if it was going to be hosted at Smokies Park. I was going to ask you what it said when you ordered yours.

There is some speculation that if Vols go to a Super Regional it may be paired with Tulane in New Olreans. Would you be coming to that? My guess is that if both LSU and Tulane win their regionals this weekend they will be paired again. The NCAA doesn't usually like to allow 2 schools from the same state in Omaha, unless of course it is from California or Florida!

I probably wouldn't make it to New Orleans. I was kind of thinking that we might get a super regional since we are ranked #8. They announce those next week right?

So day #1 is Team 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4
Day #2 is losers and winners play. one team is eliminated
Day #3 loser of the winners game and winner of the losers game.

Then Sunday night is the championship with another game on Monday if the losers bracket team wins??? Is that right?

YES! I found this on the LSU website -

The Baton Rouge Regional will feature LSU and three other teams in a double-elimination format. The teams, seedings and brackets for the Baton Rouge Regional and the entire NCAA Tournament field will be announced at 10:30 a.m. Monday on ESPN.

It used to be just Fri-Sun but they added an extra day, which is costing the NCAA lots of money to put up all the officials, teams, etc. That is why they will be looking closely at who can host a SUPER Regional that has a large stadium for lots of ticket sales! Or so the chat went all week at the SEC Tournament! They won't announce the SUPER sites until after the Regionals end. Makes it kinda hard for the families of the team members to travel to the Super when they only have a few days advance notice to try to buy airline tickets, etc.

I didn't know you were so into Baseball Freaky! I really like that about you! :D

I have to be honest... this is really the first year i have been seriously into the baseball team (since the Todd Helton days anyway). It's been kind of addicting for me especially since I am now familiar with all the players. I think this team has a legit chance to make some noise.
