Now that coker and foster have been firmly established as the go-to backs, what do you think the coaches will do with montario hardesty?

I hate to see his talent go to waste. Any chance they move him to defense?

I would even go as far as to say that Coker still looked hands down like the best of the three this weekend. Foster got the TDs, but coker looked quicker and found more holes.

Maybe put Hardesty on the return team? He has good experience running in traffic and can make people miss.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. While Hardesty isnt as fast as Coker (who is), this would "save" Coker from getting run over on kickoffs. And Hardesty would bust his tail because its his only time to shine.

Coker actually gained some good yards on kickoff returns and really helped out giving our offense a shorter field, why would you want to take him off kick returns? I understand the injury thing, but I think Coker is fast enough to avoid any potential big hit.

Seems to work for UGA with Thomas Brown.

YIKES! I hope Mikey Henderson gets caught smoking dope before next season!

? Its football. You can get hurt on any play. Uga's kicker is out for the year...and he got hurt practicing kicks! Speed definately does not protect you from injury. Ive also read that Coker was a little dinged up after the uga game.

Well in that case, Fulmer should sit him on the bench and protect him. Look, I get what you're saying. I'm just saying that our special teams suck when it comes to returning and covering. If it has to be Coker that gives that squad some life, then so be it.

A couple of his kick returns really helped us out in the Georgia game. Especially the one right after UGA ran it back. You have to have your best talent on the field.

Coker has the ability to make people miss with is vision and speed, that's one reason he's pretty good at returning the kicks..

I gotta go with you on this one. Protecting our players...er draft status'...is one of the pitfalls we have been in. The players choose to play. We don't force them. It's D1. It's SEC. They know the risk. If you want to win you cannot do it with your best personnel in the safety zone.

Hardesty can be used when they need to run the clock. He wastes alot of time going east and west instead of north and south. Until he quites juking too much he'll be third in the rotation.

I agree with leaving coker in on special teams, he avaraged well above what we have gained to this point, how is that any different than a good run from scrimmage. I think often people think about special teams as the third wheel, but its often easier to gain yards on a return than it is from scrimmage. Yards is yards, no matter how you get them.

What??? move him to defense??? There's plenty of work at RB for a three man rotation.

I personally think Hardesty played himself out of his carries, especially against UF. Too much east-west crap with spins and juking. Coker and Foster were far more effective against a similarly talented defense this weekend. That's just my opinion.

I think Hardesty needs to figure out what kind of runner he is. I've seen him run straight over guys, and I've seen him dance around alot. Pick a style, and focus on it, kid!! I personally think he's much more suited to be a smash-mouth type of runner.

Maybe I'm wrong, but Hardesty's running seemed to have softened up, kind of like G. Riggs did IMO.

Coker has finally given our return team the spark that it definitely was needing. Why would you take him out? There is an injury risk on every play any player steps on the field.

2 RB's is enough in the SEC? Hardesty is not going anywhere. And, he still could end up being the best of the 3 RB's. Having 3 great RB's is a great situation. He needs to work on things (too much dancing) but once he fixes that he is going to be a great RB. Having 3 great RB's is great because it allows us to put Coker on kickoff return without worrying about what might happen to him injury wise. Hardesty has tremendous talent and Fulmer even went out of his way after the UGA game to discuss Hardesty and let it be known that he is in no way out of the picture at RB.

Didn't Hardesty put one on the ground against Ga? or did I dream that?

No, he stretched the ball out and he was going down. When the ball hit the ground it bounced up. The ball slamming on the ground caused him to lose it, so yes he put it on the ground but it wasnt a fumble.

Has he been dropping them in practice? Might keep him out of the rotation longer if he's having trouble holding onto the rock.

Get off the kids' back. He's what not even a year removed from ACL surgery?? Come on people. You need at least a 2 years to be fully recovered from that kind of injury. Look at Daunte Culpepper in Miami.

From what I have seen this year, there is no reason not to use him in the slot.

I say put em all in the game! Foster and Hardesty as split backs, and Coker in the slot, and see how creative Cut can get.
