What was our best game this year?

I know some here will say Alabama but I have to say I believe it was LSU. The fact that we beat them on the road, hung 40 on them and held them to only 13 points, there's no doubt in my mind that was our best, most complete game of the season.
Fun win for sure, however BK and the tigas choked in that game.
Fumbled the kickoff.. Tennessee scores.
Went for 4 down in their own territory early. Got stuffed, Tennessee scores.
The deer in headlights look on Kelly's face was awesome.

I’d say LSU and Kentucky. We dominated In all 3 phases against LSU. The opening kick, the punt return, I think we sacked Daniels 5 times or more. The offense was pretty much doing what we wanted.

We put on a show against UK. We were physical in the secondary and embarrassed Levis. Those 2 games were our most complete games IMO. I guess you could throw in Vandy too.

Pittsburgh can be seen as the biggest game of the season. Particularly, the Trevon Flowers interception. Pitt was about to go up 17-0. Instead it ended up 10-7. After that the game was on and Tennessee gained an edge in the second quarter. The interception was the spring board for the game. The game was the spring board for the season. This gave the Vols the confidence to build on moving forward. What a year, Go Vols!

Bama. That was an incredible performance in all phases.
The LSU game was impressive but it seemed like we caught LSU not ready and they improved later in the season

I'd agree with this if they didn't get pounded by Texas AM to end their season. For the same reason, I don't have that as our best game. But man was it fun to blow them out in their venue, where the rotation doesn't allow us to play often.

I think Kentucky was a little better overall than LSU this year, and we made them look like a bad high school team. They were in the Top 10 for a few weeks, just like LSU. The gameplanning was phenomenal, and if pundits are to be believed, we had their Top 5 NFL QB prospect looking like...well, a typical Kentucky quarterback - BAD.

Regardless of how good/bad they are, UGA, Florida, and Bama will always mean the most to me. The Alabama win felt like the program cleansed itself of a demon. It was my favorite game. Followed by Florida.

South Carolina, Mizzou, Vandy, Miss St. are all pretty meaningless games to me unless you lose them, then it sucks royally because they're so far below our pedigree. But it's the SEC, it happens. That being said, the Vandy win meant more to me than the Mizzou win this year because it was a sign of a very mature staff. To have that performance following your biggest dud as a head coach gave me even more confidence in CJH.

So if I were to rank them, and yes there are 10 this year :)
1. Bama
2. Florida
3. LSU
4. Kentucky (best performance)
5. Vandy
6. Mizzou
7. Pitt
8. Ball State
9. Akron
10. UT-Martin

If we were to beat Clemson, given how they've looked with the new QB - and all of our opt outs - I'd probably slide them into the 3 spot ahead of LSU.

I would have to agree with a lot of people on this thread.

Best overall performance - Kentucky (44-6) total domination!
- LSU would be a close 2nd for best overall performance (40-13)

Best program win for the season (meaning the most) is obviously the Alabama win.

The Florida win was huge for the program as well. looking at the Florida win however, giving up 594 total yards and allowing them to climb back and make it close/almost win takes away from this game.

The Alabama win was just a classic college football game that played out in our favor. Easily could have went either direction. It does however show the growth in our program and this coaching staff to pull that win out.

to sum it up.

most meaningful win - Alabama
best overall performance win - Kentucky!

Flowers definingly had a memorable game the interception you mentioned and the 15-yard loss sack of their QB taking them out of FG range near the end.
On the flip side Flowers fumbled the Punt return, we also got a punt blocked that led to a score. All this and we still got a W on the road. Thats when I knew this team wouldn't quit.
All of this is why the game at Columbia is so confounding to me.

Beating Bama and they way we won made it the best for me. The UF game felt like a loss. I hate the Gators and we beat them, but it still felt like we will struggle to beat them every year even when they suck... I'm usually negative, but I was so optimistic about the Bama game. When they missed the field goal and we had 15 seconds left I was sure we would win. Wow the warmth I felt when that all happened that way it did!

LSU played a poor game against us. They improved as the season went on.

Bama, thanks to the crowd causing Bama to false start several times allowed us to get a 28-10 lead mid 2nd quarter but then Bama adjusted and dominated the rest of the game. To be honest we got very lucky the last 30 seconds of the game.

Kentucky overall was our team’s best game IMO.
