What was our best game this year?

LSU played a poor game against us. They improved as the season went on.

Bama, thanks to the crowd causing Bama to false start several times allowed us to get a 28-10 lead mid 2nd quarter but then Bama adjusted and dominated the rest of the game. To be honest we got very lucky the last 30 seconds of the game.

Kentucky overall was our team’s best game IMO.
These are horrible takes. Must have been a fun season for you to watch

I vote LSU. On the road against a SEC West opponent. Most, if not all, Tennessee fans would have to admit they were expecting a let down or at best a close win. NO ONE was expecting a whooping like that. Kentucky may not have been expected, but it was not surprising.

One of our worst defenses in decades , after giving up 63 points to USCe ,
shutting out a team that had just beaten UK and UF.

Define best. 😂

Seriously, though, There's only one game where we didn't play our best.

I really don’t think we played well in 4 games. Pittsburgh, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

The difference was that neither Pittsburgh nor Florida were good enough to take advantage.

I think that the Georgia game it was both the noise and us not being able to adjust to the defense they ran, and finally South Carolina we were just discombobulated due to the locker room issues and we were just flat.

The LSU win was by far our complete performance. It was never in doubt or close. We started fast and we finished fast. It’s been a magical season with lots of highs and few lows. Let’s finish this magical season with a complete win over Clemson. Dabo thinks his team is soooo much better than the Vols. Here’s hoping we lay it on the tigers and that pansy/whinny Dabo. Dabo and the tigers suck!!

The Florida game is when I really started to believe that the season might be something special. Gbo!

Only reason I don't choose KY is because that's what we're SUPPOSED to do against them! We are supposed to show up and beat the brakes off of them! That's why I rank the LSU game over the KY game because I look at LSU as a much more formidable opponent and we beat them on the road. The KY game was a lot of fun but that's what it should look like year in and year out!

As soon as they announced the early kick-off time @ LSU, it felt like a win was being gift-wrapped. We played great, but I think LSU just wasn't playing well.

Alabama was an incredible game, but not our defense's best performance.

Mizzou was a close game into the 3rd qtr, but not because they were good, instead, we were just not clicking on defense for the 1st half.

Pitt was fun, but neither team had their best game.

We were able to pull away on UF, despite their QB having the best game of his life. We also slacked off at the end and let them close the gap.

After thinking about it, the Kentucky game has to be the most complete game of the season. . .

UK was pumped, it was their super-bowl and a revenge game for them. We completely dismantled their offensive game-plan and our defense had its best game of the season. Our offense was clicking and destroyed their defense, while crushing their hopes and dreams.

Best game for the fans: Alabama
Best game by the team: Kentucky

Pittsburgh can be seen as the biggest game of the season. Particularly, the Trevon Flowers interception. Pitt was about to go up 17-0. Instead it ended up 10-7. After that the game was on and Tennessee gained an edge in the second quarter. The interception was the spring board for the game. The game was the spring board for the season. This gave the Vols the confidence to build on moving forward. What a year, Go Vols!

Agree that it was the biggest because it is where we got over the hump. We played very poorly in this game, but still found a way to win. Florida was a similar game where we didn’t play our best but still found a way.

I also agree with the others who stated that our best performances were LSU and Kentucky. Steamrolled both of them.

Best game was beating Alabama with Florida a close second and Louisiana State University third.

I was watching the second installment Of SEC Football On Saturdays and I never knew that Paul Bryant was an assistant coach at Vanderbilt.

He was almost the head coach at Arkansas.

Bryant left a huge foot print in the SEC overall.

I responded w/ LSU as well. However, we all know we would’ve lost if the game had been at night.
In all seriousness, I’ve never seen a fan base have so much entitlement about the time of a kickoff than LSU did the week leading up to the game.

You're right. "Best" in my opinion would definitely be going into LSU and pounding them. Kentucky was almost as good. Alabama was certainly the most fun. Nothing compares to smoking a cigar on the 50 with 101,915 Vol fans singing Dixieland Delight!

Top 5 Best Performances of the Year ...

#1 @ LSU 40-13: Dominated in all 3 phases. This is a top 10 type team that we waxed on the road, took over their stadium, and sent the trash portion of their fanbase to the exits with a quarter remaining. I can't stand fans like that, even for our team.

#2 UK 44-6: Smackdown and total dominance from start to finish. The defense just smacked UKs grind it out style offense down. That game looked like an early season patsy game against a directional school. UK ended up a decent team.

#3 UA 52-49: Dear Lord, this was the highlight of the year. Watching a geriatric head coach pitch a sideline fit, Banks refusing to shake Young's hand in defeat before the game was over, Wide Reichart doing his thing, the 20 second drive to win it, the 15 year streak vanish, and stealing their fight song in a smoke filled Neyland on a TN Sturday night! 100% pure gold! But, when your defense gives up 42 and lets them run thru you like $hart thru a tin can, it's hard to call that the best performance regardless of the fact that this was the best team that we beat this season.

#4 Pitt 34-27 OT: On the road and against a good team where we bowed up and won it in OT. Awesome road win vs a ranked team. But, we made so many turnovers and big mistakes, that we were fortunate to get the W.

#5 VU 56-0 Anytime you get a shutout and win by 8 TDs against a rival on the road it's huge ... even if it is a just a mid-major.
