Had that happen more times than I can count. Was a yearly rite of passage growing up. Go back after dark, retrieve the mower, pour gas down the hole and call it good.

My proudest hunting moment, lol. When I was a kid I covered the hole with a jar, it fit perfectly. Killed the whole nest. Got stung by a single one on my hand, so I paid the price . My hand got so huge, can’t imagine being stung multiple times.

My father-in-law mowed over a yellow jacket nest last week. He was fortunate to only get stung 7-8 times.

I got tore up back in the day. Twenty or so on my lower legs. Itched for two weeks straight.

Boiling or near boiling water works too. And is a hell of a lot cheaper.
