With the current landscape of the NCAA and the BCS the ACC seems to be vulnerable. If the ACC were to fail, I find it hard to believe any of the top teams would go to the Big12 and put up with Texas and the lack of revenue sharing.

I would like to see a couple of them in the SEC. I think VT and Miami make the most since. I Know that we have UF but miami would bring in the rest of the fl TV market and VT brings in another nice recruiting area:peace2:.

Of the three, VTech brings the most to the table in terms of adding a quality football program and expanding the SEC's TV markets.

FSU is in the heart of SEC country, close to Alabama and Georgia, but they don't add much of anything in terms of TV markets. However it's a quality athletic department and would be a great fit. We already play them every year, and we compete for the same recruits.

Miami needs the SEC much more than the SEC needs Miami. That program has been dying on the fine ever since they joined the A She She.

:lolabove: Yeah bring the team in that won't give UF a beat down every year...Not a secret that UF fans shudder in horror at the thought of playing Miami every year and you certainly don't want FSU competing for the SEC titles so bring in the team that most likely would fail...I say bring the two florida schools in and lets get it on...Let VT fade off into the big 12 or something.

Riiiight...because Miami is a college football juggernaut right now. It's not 1988 anymore.

FSU is a much bigger threat to UF, and I want them in the SEC badly in spite of that.

VT is the only program I could envision joining the SEC. FSU goes Big XII if anywhere. Not sure about Miami, they tend to keep quiet about their books, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the U isn't that much of a big fish and could get left in the dust.

1988?

Those back to back championship games were what exactly?

Arguably should have been 3 straight championship games.

Big East was ideal for the U

ACC ain't exactly a bad situation for them either...

Just troubled by the fact that their attendance sucks if they aren't good, and their television profile is really average when that's the case.

Attendance sucked when they were good, but I think their TV profile is solid.

I question the UM's administration commitment to football, let alone the non-rev programs.

How often did their games make primetime? I honestly don't know, it just seems like Miami doesn't make the national broadcast all that often.

last year it was the ohio st game and the uva on thursday night

this season they will at least get two..vs notre dame and another thursday game

Down here in Central Fla, seems like UM games are always on one of the ESPN channels or the ABC regional telecast.

Regional, yeah, but national? Thursday night games are obvious, and the Ohio State game was a shoe-in, but I'm talking to the point where Alabama or LSU is at, when games against teams like Ole Miss make the national broadcast.

What do you expect?

I doubt 75% of students know there is a football team so the 1500 that do live in paradise.

I seem to remember Miami beating UF 4 out of 5 times in the 2000's...Most of them blowouts...But its not 1988 anymore is it? :good!:

It's not 2002 or 2003 anymore either.....although the last time we played it was a 23-point blowout.

Truth is Miami's football program needs a lifeline badly, or an administration that gives a damn about athletics.

In short, Miami football is whatever wins you the argument?

Golden will have the U rolling in no time.

Admin has always been non interested in the football program.

Miami football is one of the greatest programs in the history of college football...so is Notre Dame. Neither has been relevant for about a decade, and the dynamics that helped created their success aren't in play anymore.

Miami benefitted from the old bowl system unlike any school I can remember. Imagine UT playing for three national titles in Neyland with elite talent.

As for UM's administration, I'm of the opinion that the SEC is not interested in adding a school that cares less about athletics than Vanderbilt.
