The most brutal football team in the country? I for one believe that football is just not a game you play on Saturday. I believe that football is not just a strategy game to see who has the better game plan. I believe that football is an all out war for 60 minutes.

Is there not an attitude direction given to these young men to absolutely demoralize their opponents? Instill fear into their opponents? I just don't think it would be a bad thing for an opponent to dread stepping onto to the field because they know their about to get their ass knocked down over and over again.

I don't believe it's a bad thing to lay a hit on somebody and then take a purposeful 15 yarder for pushing them down again after the play, possibly once a game. I seriously don't see a problem with a little blood.

Maybe, just maybe this can be instilled into the player's heads. Kick ass for 60 minutes and play with nothing but ruthless aggression. I don't know of any team in the country that plays like that.

Anyways your thoughts?

Do they need to go to class too? Shouldn't be any trouble finding bad asses in prison.

I don't like that kind of football. I prefer a hard, skillfully played game, with no true ill-intent toward the opponent, other than to dominate them on the scoreboard. I have always liked to watch a defensive player tackle the snot out of his opponent and then offer to help them get up. To each his own.

You're right, to each his own. I just don't like the thought of knocking the crap out of a Bammer, Dawg, or a Gator and then saying here buddy, let me help you up.

Winning with class is the "nastiest" way to win there is - opponents hate a cool and collected opponent who owns them. It takes no willpower or mental strength to be a barbarian on the field.

I'd rather we just arm the Pride of the Southland Band and let them shoot the other team as they run out of the tunnel.

I guess you want us to be the old Miami Hurricanes of past. Sorry but if you want Tennessee to turn UT into ThugU. Then I'm done with football. We teach our kids to play with sportsmanship because you want them to be respectful as human beings. They go hand in hand. If your a thug punk ***** on the field your going to be a thug punk ***** off the field. That's BS. Do it the Peyton way. Play with your skills. Not your bad attitude.

My thought is, I would prefer to be a classy football team who plays physically tough, gets the job done, and executes with discipline the gameplan that our coaches have prepared.

Playing tough and aggressive is okay. Playing classless is another. It seems that you are suggesting we play classless, earning 15 yard penalties just because.

I want to be feared because we execute to perfection. Not because we will hurt you. I want efficient offense. I want sound tackling. I want relentless pursuit of the football. I want solid blocking. I want no missed assignments. That's why I want to be feared. Feared, not classless.

Show class and sportsmanship while kicking the **** out of the opponent at the same time.

Football is a game of controlled aggression, more akin to a physical chess match. You have to have played to understand that.

I think that you can be a nice guy off the field and a heat seeking missle with attitude on the field. I'm not talking about trying to cause injury to a player but wanting to knock the taste out of his mouth. I don't remember Al Wilson being much of a gentleman on the field but was a great guy off of it. Oh and Peyton of course is and was a gentleman on the field..his is a QB and they sure don't want to stir an opponent up.

I did play all of my life, teams were afraid to play us because we knocked the **** out of them and head hunted, our opponents knew they were about to go to hell. We won two state championships because of it. Running backs would try to fall before contact and qb's would try to throw the ball away because they knew we were out to kill.

I hope you realize that collegiate football players are generally much more closely matched than high school. Even physically dominating athletes take their share of punishment.

for alabama it takes a midget maniac control freak and lots of deer antler spray. for us it should take a military general and oranges.

NO SIR EEE, sound like you want us to become like eye gorging and shirt pulling Gators. Along with having a stomp them while they're down Marcus Vick personality. No thanks. Playing hard is one thing, living in a cesspool is entirely different.

Now, if toughness is desired, make the players participate in a few games with a Maori, German or Australian rugby teams. If they survive, tell them that was football, the way it should be played, so play it that way.
