What Would It Take To Be

I did play all of my life, teams were afraid to play us because we knocked the **** out of them and head hunted, our opponents knew they were about to go to hell. We won two state championships because of it. Running backs would try to fall before contact and qb's would try to throw the ball away because they knew we were out to kill.

Al Bundy?

Well at least we know some fans are on roids! Football is certainly a game for men but what you describe is a thug. How about a little class and sportsmanship.

You're right, to each his own. I just don't like the thought of knocking the crap out of a Bammer, Dawg, or a Gator and then saying here buddy, let me help you up.

You must be in the Goodell corner, in favor of sissying up football so bad that no one recognizes it! I'm all for class, but still knocking the crap out of the opponent

There's always this guy in threads like this.

No, I'm about 8 inches taller and outweigh that guy by about 100 lbs. LOL........Actually, if more posters had a clue what they were talking or typing about, these threads would never start. As you can read, this type of thread is rather common on VN.

That's my hope for VN - less threads and less to talk about. Facts are all we should be after here. In fact, I think most of us who are posting on this site are merely Vols fans with little to no expertise. Pretty stupid.

Mods, please clean up the mess that is 99.6% of VN.

The most brutal football team in the country? I for one believe that football is just not a game you play on Saturday. I believe that football is not just a strategy game to see who has the better game plan. I believe that football is an all out war for 60 minutes.

Is there not an attitude direction given to these young men to absolutely demoralize their opponents? Instill fear into their opponents? I just don't think it would be a bad thing for an opponent to dread stepping onto to the field because they know their about to get their ass knocked down over and over again.

I don't believe it's a bad thing to lay a hit on somebody and then take a purposeful 15 yarder for pushing them down again after the play, possibly once a game. I seriously don't see a problem with a little blood.

Maybe, just maybe this can be instilled into the player's heads. Kick ass for 60 minutes and play with nothing but ruthless aggression. I don't know of any team in the country that plays like that.

Anyways your thoughts?
Depth, talent in the trenches, and a few years in S&C. We don't have enough of any of those qualities......yet.

LOL.....you folks need to "toughen up." I along with most of the contributors on here do so for the entertainment value. No need to be here if all you are after is real information. The only reason I even posted on this thread was silliness initiated in the first post.

Classless. Would hate to see us do that garbage. I never helped an opponent up and never let one help me up. We can be monsters on the field without getting stupid 15 yard penalties after the play.

Brutal - or hardest hitting defense. I will assume the latter. Our first rule of business is to 1) top condition, 2) have a ball control offense (rested D), 3) better tackling lines (no misses), and 4) gang tacking
