What would it take?

The problem is that this is the year to take the SEC. It is bad, and UK will have its weakest team in several past years and several beyond. I think we should win 20 games this year, but I wouldn't fire him if not.

Next year, I expect to be dancing. But, the very year that we have a great team, so will UK and UF. Take advantage this year.

I am concerned about the future after Stokes and Hubbs.

Florida is going to take a huge hit after this year. They lose, Boynton, Rosario, Murphy, and surely Young as well. They'll have some talent remaining and some decent recruits coming it, but that's still a lot to lose.

UK will be restocking once again, but who knows what the team will be like? Always a crap shoot.

Missouri will lose Oriakhi, Bowers, Keion Bell and possibly Pressey to the draft.

Ole Miss loses Holloway, Buckner and Williams.

Of the teams returning the most experience next year in the SEC, Tennessee will be the most talented. I expect that to go a long way.

I believe the line up of McRae, Richardson, Reese, Stokes, and Yemi has some potential. If they can finish at .500 in conference play and go to NIT, then next year will be awesome with Hubbs and Maymon. If next year is not NCAA with 2 or 3 wins, it will be time for a new direction.

I think about 7 at most.Just because this team is not getting any better. They are playing worse right now.

So you don't think it's possible to beat Georgia or Auburn in TBA?

Even playing the way they are now, they could probably do that. So I don't think you can say 7 at most.

However, at this point I think 7 wins is more probably than 10.

NCAA tourney next year is my expectation. He needs to show the ability to recruit and coach a good outside shooter.

Yemi >> Kenny

We need Golden to perform. He is key to this team. Just don't know what it will take...

I would like to see them win 10 or more, but there is no proof that they can beat any SEC team right now.Yesterday people were posting like Ole Miss was going to be an automatic win because they havent played anybody yet.

Well it's no surprise by my name that I'm a huge CCM fan, most already know. I have a couple of questions though.

If you already support CCM, what would it take for you to not support him and want him fired?

If you don't support him (which looks like there are more of these fans each and everyday) what would it take for him to do to support him?

For me not to support him, he would have to do like he did last season and have us lose to Austin Peay, M.T.S.U. & College of Charleston and also to not bring in any good recruits.

I do see us getting one good recruit per season. Stokes last season & Hubbs next season. So, he can recruit.

No more silly loses to E.T.S.U., App. State, Carson Newman etc. etc.

At least win 90% of the games that we are supposed to win......

I mean c'mon. Georgia and Auburn aren't half as good as Ole Miss. The Rebs are potentially a top 25 team

And you have to take into account which posters said that Ole Miss is an automatic win. Ole Miss might have not played many people but Pomeroy had them listed 30th in his rankings so they've been doing something right. They lost to MTSU and Indiana St on the road. MTSU is a possible NCAA team. They also beat Vandy on a neutral court even though Vandy is down this year.

And if you don't think they can beat any SEC team then you haven't watched many SEC teams. Vandy, Miss St, UGA, LSU and South Carolina have all struggled and will bring up the rear. Auburn has some awful losses, but they took Illinois to the wire on the road and beat FSU at home recently. Teams evolve as the season goes along. I've said I don't see UT making the dance, but they aren't losing to every team in the SEC. That's just absurd.

I never said they will lose all them.We just dont know what we are going to get night in and night out with this team.I dont see them going down to Ga,SC,AU or Bama.
I also never said Tn was going to beat Ole Miss either.

But you said there is no proof that they can beat any SEC team right now. I'd say beating Wichita St and Xavier is proof they can beat a SEC team. Wichita St would finish in the Top 5 of the SEC and maybe higher and Xavier would finish probably mid pack.

Road wins will be few and far between for this team. Just like last year. Golden is injured and that isn't helping. When McBee and Hall are no shows and get the minutes they do then you aren't going to win many games.

Ole Miss jacked up a lot of shots and gave UT opportunities to get the rebound, but Ole Miss got 15 more boards and 14 offensive rebounds which led to 25 second chance points. That's inexcusable. Fortunately, UT won't be playing many more front lines as good as Ole Miss' front line. They have no excuse not to make the NCAA tourney with the SEC being down and already beating UT on the road.

Yeah I know. I'm trying to see what it will take to get his support (mainly from IE and his followers.)

Followers? What?

Making the tourney is a minimum expectation for our basketball program. There is no excuse for not getting into a watered down field with our program. Cuonzo should sleepwalk into the tourney - the season should be all about seeding.

But that aside, I want what any fan wants. Compete and win. Thrilling upsets. Agonizing defeats when the team left it all on the court. Looking back after the season and knowing it was the best.

What concerns me most about the "wait til next year" crowd on here is everyone is planning on Maymon and Hubbs taking us to the final four. Maymon is obviously injury prone and Hubbs is a freshman out of Dyersburg where he's not exactly playing against top talent every week (and I know he played aau and such, but still).

Pretty tall order to have a coach ride a guy with one good season under his belt who has been injury prone and a freshman from the fields of west tennessee to great heights.

According to the Martin gurus, Hubbs won't start so it will be Maymon leading us to the promised land.

True. But I think they have an out because I've read something like he won't start, but will play starter minutes.

Oh, always an out.
The talent isn't good enough this season to get there, yet Hubbs will be playing behind them.
But he gets starter minutes.
Think they're logic runs in circles?

One person started a thread saying that he expects a Final 4 run and now it's, "everyone is planning on Maymon and Hubbs taking us to the final four". Who is everyone?

Remember when I said you make up a bunch of falsehoods and you denied it? That was funny.

A little. Actually a lot.

I think we'll be better next season, but not this remarkable shift that results in a big tourney run.

I've seen some posts questioning where people think we'll be ranked in the pre-season next year. Sheesh.

If you wanna take shots at me come out and do it. Yea I said I thought Hubbs would be the 6th man behind Hubbs and Richardson, Atleast I say something and stick with it.

You've been on both sides of the fence and back again the last 6 months, covering all your bases?

Come out and say something, hindsight is 20/20 my friend. How's this season gonna play out? How's next season gonna play out? Will Hubbs start the season opener?

C'mon let's hear it...

If he doesn't have us dancing next year he has to go, no questions asked.

This year he's safe no questions asked.

Now...next year gets tricky, he should win games in the dance, but do you require that if it's his first appearance? IMO it'll just depend. If he has a good looking 2014 class coming in, has a good year we are a 2 seed but get upset, bring him back IMO.
Pretty much exactly how I feel.

there is no proof that they will win, they should win but like I said we dont know what team we are going to get from game to game.If you think without a doubt that Tn will win all these game then thats good.Means you have faith but because I dont think Tn is going to win or sweep all these teams is just my opinion.Im not trying to make anybody think like me.All you are doing is giving your opinion ?
