What would You Do?

I completely disagree with this statement:

CBJ IS THE ONLY COACH THAT WAS WILLING TO COME INTO AND FIX THIS MESS....

I think you could find alot of coaches willing to fix much worse messes than this for $3.5. Please get off this kick he is doing Tennessee a favor. He's making $3.5. If he never wins another game at Tennessee he's made out like a bandit.

Name some....willing to come here that would do a better job....you will get your money's worth out of CBJ at less money. 3.5 is about right unfortunately you don't get it

It's way to early to say CBJ is doing a good job. I give him credit on early recruiting success. He still has to hold on to those guys. He brought pre-season excitement to the program. However, his in game decisions is subject at this point.

I agree, but I do believe the talent level depth and experience level are the factors affecting game plans...still want to know which coaches you think were possible candidates willing to come and take on this train wreck at that price.

He has got the players attention...he is doing a good job at this point...he will get better. You don't like me what is going on behind the 4 walls. These kids are being shown the right positions but it takes live game situations to reinforce training mtgs and for them to validate what they are learning.

Don't make the same mistakes twice...

I don't know what coaches would have been willing to come here. But I assure you there are other capable coaches that could be had for $3.5.

More Dooley s would have showed up.

We got the best coach available and he is a diamond in the rough....but the point remains the same name the coaches willing to come here and repair the mess.

We're not even off of our expectations yet. We knew we were going to lose to Florida.

The statement was made CBJ was the only one willing to come and fix this mess. My statement is there are a number of coaches that would take the Tennessee job and $3.5. There are a number of coaches that would take $3.5 and any coaching job. Again, its way too early to tell if we got the best coach available.

So what if we win 6 or 7 games. We are still 2 yes out being able go compete for an SEC title. Sit back.. take a deep breath.... let Butch recruit and Coach. We need to support him and see where he takes us. So just hold on rough ride ahead...

Butch doesn't get to a Bowl this season and Next they will start pouring gas around his chair!

If Butch keeps the highly ranked recruiting class together he definitely deserves at least 3 years (same as Dooley deserved and got). Having said that, I think both our current OC and DC should be replaced asap.

We couldn't afford it...Gruden played us...he is fine where it he is and if he wanted to be here he would have negotiated better.... Been here made 4 years...he wasn't willing to take the risks with UT.

We were even played by Charlie Strong......

The only thing is that we were so desperate that we bought into this whole thing...

We have a win win situation with CBJ....he will not let us down....3 years from now when his players are in the system we will not be disappointed.....

Jones will use every resource available to him to make this team achieve and over achieve....he will also not quit. Dooley was overwhelmed and kiffin was just looking for a job used us as a stepping stone....

This I believe more than anything.

Spot on about the OC at least --- there is a reason Kelly didnt take any of these guys to ND

Ace and Gary still think we hired Butch Davis. My gosh, I wish I had their boss at performance appraisal time. These two mess up more and more every year and still stay alive for another year of calling SEC games.

The absolute worst announcers ever in the history of college football.

Our DC already got fired when he was at UGA. Also, both Kiffin and Dooley beat up on him pretty bad (while at UGA and Cincy). Add to that what he have seen so far from him vs Oregon and UF (same lack of discipline and mental errors we saw last year under Sal) and he should be gone.

Yes we did....you cannot think of a single coach can you...we had to lower our criteria to get Jones....he'll Hamiliton couldn't get anybody with a wad of money available. Do you remember the criteria of SEC coaching experience. We lowered that require because coaches would not touch it....

Do not fool yourself....nobody is knocking down the doors to coach here and we could have taken lesser qualified coaches, but anybody of any caliber and quality would not have taken the job for less than 4.2 million with a staff costing another 2 + mil.

We got the best available and he is going to prove my point.

I forget I am dealing with 46 yr old kids sometimes on this board that just like to argue for the sake of it...

Still thinking aren't you?

Time will tell....but we got the best available at the Tim for the right price...if the DC & OC are problems we will know when the system is installed with their players....recruits if held are not concerned evidently....Kelly did not take them to ND for a reason look it up....Google could be your friend. Behind 4 walls?..

The problem with this could be that when it eventually becomes obvious that our OC or his system is the problem it will be at least 3 years down the road (if we wait for his recruits to develop). Then when we get rid of him we will have a roster full of players recruited specifically for spread and switching back to traditional offense will be difficult and take forever (I personally don't think spread can work against SEC elite defenses and this is the most troubling aspect of this latest UT coaching change for me - even Oregon which probably has the best spread system of all got smashed when they played that LSU defense few years ago).

Yeah fire him too - Mack Brown sure would have by now. I remember how UGa fans hated him and were glad he was finally fired -- I think the AD told Richt to do it or he was gone too, if I remember correctly.

The biggest problem for most is wait and see mode. The best method for those that are ready to fire anybody based on past or current circumstantaces is to disengaged their brains, engage their brains, have patience. (Wait and see approach) these Kids have been through enough and so have fans, but face it it is the players that matter... If they buy into it which they have then as a fan support it. These kids are not working hard day in and out to lose...the recruits have bought into it evidently and they love the staff old and new. Another note is that CBJ Is no dummy, he will figure it out.....

The one thing is that a lot of you have never experience is that you gain experience from you failures and you learn from it.....wait and see you maybe surprised....again firing is a harsh word to use when you don't know the whole story....

get on board with this coach and staff or get off

We are not Texas and Mack Brown is the problem...the last few years show that....Fulmer mold.....
